Thanks for the list!

The ad for 1966 SFM6S209 is out of date. That car sold around August of 2017. Not sure why it's still listed on Hemmings.

302 was sold weeks ago. I am, admittedly, lazy when it comes to taking ads down.

The 65-67 market is strong. When cars are priced reasonably the cars sell quickly.

Kind regards,
Vern

The car at 379,995 is 5s391. It has been for sale almost constantly for the past few years. What is funny to me is that the asking prices of the other cars on the list are so elevated that 379k seems like a bargain. When it comes to the market on 65s, like I said above, apropriately/reasonably priced cars find new owners quickly. I've bought 4 65s this year and sold them all quickly...(sold one of them twice already this year)

The car at 529k is 5s433, also has been for sale for a very very very long time.

The SA driving school car has also been advertised for sale for many years although I don't believe the car is truly actively for sale. It's being advertised by a broker, not the owner.

Kind regards,
Vern

The last 1966 is 6S899 per the VIN plate picture.

Has anyone determined the 1966 Hertz VIN? Picture is not clear to me.

Thanks Vern, I knew you would be the one to know which is which.  So why hasn't 391 sold?

For starters I don't like a rear battery on a front battery car.
And then we would ask why .... ?

To me it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me...

In the case of 391, I believe it has sold a few times since its auction sale at worldwide some years ago. As far as why the car hasn't found a long term owner yet, your guess is as good as mine.

Kind regards,
Vern

I owned 391 and it was a hell of a car. The battery was in the trunk and not under the hood, and the fenders were rolled. John Brown did a lot of work on the car as did Cobra Automotive. Everything is correct except for those 2 items. The car is known and verified by some of the CA experts. It was much nicer than the Mecum car that sold for $450 (rebody) in Portland. I sold 391 as soon as I located and purchased #81.

Says matching number chassis.  But also says it was fully restored, yeah maybe but even I can see issues with that restoration.  They got GREAT money for that car.

Local guys in the Pacific NW know that car and know the history.  You might want to talk to someone in that area about it, they can fill you in on the details.

I have no skin in the game in regards to the car sold at "Mecum" but... I think many people throw around the term "Rebody" very loosely and sometimes with or without "TRUE" knowledge of such.
