Title: I like saving forgotten carbs
Post by: Drew Pojedinec on August 25, 2022, 06:50:44 PM
Dennis a SAAC member sent me a 3259-1 recently that was *cough* a little rough.
I felt it was worthy of sharing

Well, more than that.
This is a “services offered” in that you may think your rotten piece of history is history… give me a chance. Maybe it won’t be perfect, but we might make it usable again.

Worth a shot

That is so true.  You did an excellent job on the fire survivor carb I sent you.  It may not look perfect, but works great.

This is the same. I cannot fix the pock mark of corrosion, but the insides of this one were perfect. Even the gasket mating surfaces required very very little.

One would be very hard pressed to find anyone better!!!!!   Drews attention to every fine detail whether a rebuild or concours restoration is unmatched in my opinion. Check out his AirFuelSpark page on FB. Amazing craftsmanship and KNOWLEDGE of the FORD Holley carburetor.

That is amazing!  That carb's "before" photos look like it's been on the bottom of the ocean longer than the Titanic.

Do you sell good, American made needle and seat assemblies for Holley 4150 series carbs with LeMans bowls?

I have 1,000 of them… I’ll be totally honest, I have no idea where they were made. They have worked fine for me this far.
I could ask the supplier, but I really doubt they’d tell me the truth.

Best bet if you want american made is to reuse an original steel needle from a 3255. Just re lap the needle to the seat. I have a bucket of them if you wish to try that. I don’t use them as frankly, most people don’t understand the importance of fuel control or filtration, so the viton cause less issues.
