What is the deal with these filters I can't find them really and what was for sale was really expensive. Why are people searching for these?

As it relates to 67 and 68 Shelby I Think you may be mistaken as the filter in your picture is a common type and typically worth about 20.00 . Wire mesh and paper are all wrong compared to the assemblyline. The assemblyline versions are hard to find and typically expensive when you do.Later versions my be marked with the same but look different then assemblyline versions.

Yes I know that its different but thanks for the clarification as other will read this also and can learn from this, as I have 2 original ones I clearly see the difference and motorcraft was later than our cars, but I have seen exactly this filter in some sale ads etc. and people were asking 200$ that's why I asked.

p.s Bob maybe you can also give an statement to my 8000 rpm question in the concours talk. That would be great, thank you as always.

Kent , the most logical explanation for a putting a high price on that contempory filter is lack of knowledge of the part and how it compares to original.
