Title: A/C- tilt vacuum canisters
Post by: Peter L. on December 09, 2022, 01:35:50 PM
Getting around to the A/C on my KR. Can someone tell me, are the vacuum canisters on the inner fender for the A/C and tilt the same? I have neither and have to replace both of them.
Found some good photos using the search, but no information if they are the same or different.
     Thanks for any help.
                                          Pete.

Both are available as reproductions. The repros can have quality issues, so be sure to test them with a vacuum pump before installing them. That way they can be returned and exchanged if they fail.

  Who offers a good reproduction?

There is only one reproduction. It's sold by most of the vendors. Whichever one is your favorite and takes returns.

This is so correct.  I purchased a new reproduction and it would not hold a vacuum.  I ended up going to EBay and bought an original and it has worked perfectly for me.

Thanks again. I would prefer original pieces. Time to start searching.

Be sure to test any original ones you find. Most of them stopped holding vacuum years ago. The reproductions are actually very nice, you just have to be the final inspector.
