Title: 1968 Shelby Console Cover Latch Assistance
Post by: Craner on January 24, 2023, 09:22:29 PM
I’m looking for sources for a console lid latch.
My console is missing the latch that attaches to base.
Looking for guidance on what is missing, and any leads on part sources.
Attached are 2 photos that show the lid with latch, and the base that is missing mating part.

Any assistance is appreciated.
Thank you
Fran

Sorry the pictures are not clearer. Basic old school cabinet drawer or door catch design

I find these style of latches common to dryer door latches.  Take a look at this one on auction, eBay No. 325383430057.  The pin looks very similar to the factory pin.  The anchoring feature might be different, sheet metal thread VS. machine thread.
