Title: 66 Hertz Car Spare Tire?

Which way is correct, wheel up or down in the trunk? Thanks

For 66 the outside is facing down like is depicted in jack instruction decal.   I asked the same question awhile back.

Just sharing but have seen them mounted both ways in vintage pictures. Sure others have seen the pictures also. Not sure why or if one may have been a fluke or their may be an explanation .

Would currently suggest "face" down.  :)

 I surmise the reason for the face up position is because it looks better with the deluxe wheels . A different longer hold down "j " hook is needed for the face up wheel storage. For now given the jacking instructions along which some of the vintage photos that corroborate the position the general consciences is the face down position . At least until more information is documented to suggest otherwise.
