I have two nice screw-on style trim rings, but both are PN S7MS-13A537-B, and one has a raised lip, but the other one has had the lip shaved off as seen in the pic. My car came with the smooth type trim, which I have but are in sad shape. Both have raised lips, one is part number S7MS-13A537 and the other S7MS-13A538, so I assume one is L and the other is R? One is bent and the other is broken. I'd like to use the nicer ones but will the lights be angled all funky due to one having the raised lip and the other not?
Mine were both without the lip, ground off smoother than the one you show.
I've heard some say the lip/shelf goes up and others say down, interested to hear the replies as well.
S7MS-13A537 is left (driver) and S7MS-13A538 is right side.
OK, shelf/lip on the bottom ,-)
So who was grinding those off - Shelby or everyone else?
and why - for easier fitment?

Bob,
So, the cast in shelf/lip goes on the bottom, correct?
Thanks,
Eric

THANKS for adding that link to the/another thread!!
The variation of the curved "flat" (not so flat) early version vs the later Raised version (which helps to get the lens/trim to mount flat while providing extra space for the spare tire and the top lip of the fiberglass for mounting at the rear of the trunk opening for easier installation and sealing) really shows the issues being resolved on these cars.
