Yeah but the Jaguar D. To die for.  Mike Hawthorn at the wheel, what a tragic life he lived. I think he was also involved in the 1955 Le Mans crash thar killed 84 people.

Not continuous...There was no Corvette for 1983 so it is said...

GM, a faceless, heartless corporate giant.  Ford, a living breathing family that creates fine automobiles.  Well sometimes not.  But neither does GM or any other car manufacturers.  They all have their problems.  Now I can't hate too much on the Corvette because it's not the fault of the rocks, minerals and plastics that went into making the thing nor is it the car's fault that the all carbon fiber Ford GT is better than the Corvette in every way.  That's just how the world works sometimes.

Me Grog.

Grog say Ford GT equal instant appreciation in value.

Grog also say Corvette C8 equal instant depreciation.

There, you see?  I'm just a simple Neanderthal holdover and even I can see that the Ford GT is much better.

I agree with you 1000%

But having said that the great majority of C8 drive and enjoy their $80 to100k  vehicle

A vehicle that does not envy the GT as it performs pretty close in handling and acceleration

The GT being considerably much higher priced 5 to 6 times above an average C8s price

Then you have the NIKE wearing crowd that put them on a pedestal and ain't nothing better than "MACAR". Well every group has "that type" in them, you know what I mean.....

How to purchase a GT

First YOU must qualify and be selected, thoroughly interrogated for the process of owing a GT

Let's talk about not being inclusive

Also they do not have to sign over their first born, contract essentially saying what they have to do and what they can't do with "THEIR" car

A copy of the "agreement" could not be coerced due to "fear"

Let me ask what color will YOU be ordering YOUR C8 ?

Tony, I think you should buy a new vette, cruise around wearing a hula shirt, gold chains, and cheap sunglasses and tell everyone how superior Chevrolet is. Why you will probably have more panties thrown at you than Tom Jones.

Let's address your statement:

Buy a new vette.....could have happened

Cruise around wearing a hula shirt....like the Shelby folks

Gold chains.....not my cup of tea

Cheap sunglasses.....never, I have a huge collection of Ray Bans

Tell everyone how superior the C8 is.....dont have to facts speak for themselves

Tom Jones.....showing your age here. Wales-hailing singer from the mid sixties.  Groovy man !

You can't sell your car.....

The Ford GT, which costs $500,000, was introduced as a 2017 model and Ford handpicked a few hundred people to own the car out of the thousands that applied to purchase it.

Buyers are prohibited from selling the car for two years after taking delivery, though some have tried.

And TOUCHE  !

The Corvette has always been an immensely powerful car, and humbly so, and the C8 generation of the car is the most dramatic example of that.

Especially considering the price of the car, which is dramatically less expensive than the Ford GT, the Corvette puts down performance numbers that go toe-to-toe with the GT and sometimes even exceed it, all while being a much less expensive car that is also much easier to get your hands on.

While it might not be as light or as quick on the quarter-mile as the GT, the GT is an incredibly strong opponent, and the Corvette is still very much a world-class supercar with incredibly impressive stats that a skilled driver can make the best of, and save money doing it.

Arn'cha worried about sourcing parts in the event of a trade embargo with China? All that plastic moulding will get pricey.  Ford GT fabricated in Markham, Ontario by Multimatic. Actually not far from where I grew up.

That was just constructive advice Tony. Your preference for an alternative product line prompted me to suggest a path toward your goal.

Did you know everything is made in Shinah and assembled elsewhere?

Having said that, please take into consideration the following and say what a deal !

                C8.                             GT
MSRP.    65 595.                 500,000
H. P.          490.                         660
0-60.        2.9 sec.                     3.0
1/4 mile  11.2.                         10.8

Nope not worried about Shinah. I am told we have a solid relationship with them with our current illustrious administration.

Now off to Lemans to see the WINNERS !

Not a legitimate win when the drivers had to rely on the black arts and various levels of sorcery along with the blessings of Dagon to achieve the podium.

Just an FYI, When Tony says he loves me I presume it's not sexual and just a figure of speech. I don't know his leanings and its OK either way. I'm personally not on the pink team.

If memory serves me SA and FORD both won in prototype in the past Lemans 24hr. Today this would be the LMH class. Has Chevrolet ever been the overall winner there?

There in lies the problem;

Think of the middle-aged guy you know that always talks about his days as a high school football player; the mom with three kids that talks incessantly about her days as a college gymnast; the retired executive that relives over and over again her/ his days as the head of a Fortune 500 company.

Living in the past is damaging to your future and makes it harder for you to enjoy the present.

Enjoy the present

Even better remember when a private guy could field his own Caddy & Vettes - while he wasn't winning America's Cup?
And then have some high school kid copy your stripe idea onto his 1946 Ford.
