66 mustang std black seat, feb 66 build, does it have a seat tag with build date on it? sj car. what would date be? thanks, phred

Seats can be found with a tag on them identifying the frame and spring combination (seats were delivered incomplete to the car assembly plant)  attached and used by the sub contractor.  These labels were often made from pressed paper/cardboard so they often didn't hold up over time Some were steel metal - haven't looked to establish a pattern of application of the two different materials

The date on the tag would be prior to the cars assembly date but how far before was typical I can't be certain not have enough data to base a guess/estimation on

Here's a photo of the original tag under my driver's seat. I believe the vehicle was assembled in mid-March 1966. No date code on here, only what I believe is an engineering number. Looks like C4ZB 6563100 E. I hope this helps you. Denny

Anyone know what the different numbers mean? Would an early 66 like mine and a later one like Denny's have different manufacturers or other details?
