Curious, buddy of mine had a white, '67 350 with oversize, Bondo filled flares to shroud 12" wide Goodyear race tires on slotted mags. At one time had a cage and was reported to have competed at Limerock. Sat in a NH garage for many years. Believe it was sold in the late '80s thru a broker in the DC area, or maybe Keene, NH. May have included Webber carbs. Always wondered what happened to it.
Saw this car in Portland Oregon back in the early '80's......
Those white mud flaps are the Bomb!
When I bought 6S843 it had 200 pounds of bondo flares and spoilers over 14x10 wheels on each corner. I put on Maier flares for awhile.
Wasn't there also a 65 that huge flares. I thought maybe Stouffer had it for sale at one point. I thought, it's been awhile so I could be real wrong, that at one point it was green and the license plate said "NUKE GM". I think I have some pictures of it from the 80's-

I remember this car. It was at Mid America in 1989. About 4 or 5 Mustangs and Shelbys were racing down Hwy 412 to Hallett. I remember us passing it. It was on an open trailer. I should have pictures of it somewhere. I do not remember if it was green or white at that time, but a few years earlier I do remember a green one at Hallett with huge flares.
Here is a pic of my '67 #00503, with huge steel flares very similar to the ones pictured above!

These were steel flares with a fair amount of bondo added. This car was from the LA area and supposedly modified in the late 60's or early 70's with these flares. As much as I thought it was a cool tribute to the '70's I had to remove them! The quarters were otherwise perfect.
^^^ Looks like it could be the same car as the one pictured in post #2.
I think it was safer to say, I remember 2 or 3 that didn't have flairs. pretty common. I had hijackers. phred
