Again as in the last few years, to just be thankful for another great year, I take my car out for the "last Ride of the Year" on Dec 31st. I am planning on doing it at about noon on Dec 31st and the long term weather forecast looks favorable. If you want to take part in this almost yearly tradition, I am planning on being at the South County Café in Deale, Maryland at Non on Dec 31st for a "Buy Your Own" Lunch and general BS session for about an hour. All cars are welcome, but I know of a couple of Shelby's within 25 miles (Hint, Phil and Corey)
No plaques, no trophies, no certificates, just a good time
Anyone interested ?
This will be followed up by the "First Ride of 2019" to Chesapeake Grille in Harrington Harbor on Jan 1st at about 2:00pm
I am interested for sure. As long as the weather is ok and there is no salt or brine on the roads I will plan on attending.
I will be there with or without snow LOL
It only snowed a little bit last year, barely covered the ground
Snow does not bother me so much as the massive amount of salt the dump on the roads.
Weather is looking cold but clear, low of 24, high of 40
Bring pictures and stories to share
I drove a Shelby yesterday and I hope it's not "the last ride of the year" yet...
We should get an East Coast "last official show of the year" thing....
Maybe in NJ
I know a guy with a parking lot and clean bathrooms
What part of Jersey? It's a little less than 2 hours to the Delaware Bridge
But this year I'll be at the South County Cafe in Deale Maryland on the 31st at noon and at The Chesapeake Grill in Rosehaven on the 1st for Breakfast at 10:00 for the "First Ride of 2019"
Here's a shot of last years First/Last rides
My highest props to you guys for driving your cars!
Join us, it will be a great time
I am on a slow hunt for a car but here in Minnesota our driving season has ended. So for now I enjoy following along.
I exercised both the Cobra and the Shelby today, bright sunshine and 48 degrees with remote undulating roads beckoning. The exhaust note bouncing off the tree lined curves of a once still forest. I noted the distinct differences in these two as I tested their limits, before slowly returning to their warm sanctuary this Christmas eve.
That's a great Christmas gift.
Thursday or Friday I was out again but now the weather is getting sketchy...
The best gift I got for Christmas - me and the Mrs. taking ole "Barnesy" for a cruise. Mid-60's, sunny and clear! Florida weather sure beats Central NY in December! ;D
Sunny and 47 in west central Illinois. Have cared for the Hertz since 1987 and gave 1st ride to my brother and
sister-in-law this Christmas morning. All is well!
Terry
Listening to sound of an American V8 rumblingdown the road is a great way to end a year
The weather looks really sucky but we can all still meet and BS about how the years been ( Phil can tell us tales about the GT350 Tour, I can talk about MCACN, Cory about the show in Ridgley.) Anyone else is welcome to show up
South County Café in Deale Maryland at 12 Noon
Took the car out today as tomorrow looks increasingly rotten. I still plan on meeting with enthusiasm and passion, just probably without the car. But I did get mud on the tires, so it made me think I drove it more. We have had a record amount of rain this year, rumor says its double what Seattle got.
Looking forward to seeing folks tomorrow, bring pictures, tell stories, that's the most important part. Shelby's, Mustangs, Cougars, any story involving 2018
My traditional Dec 31 ride for the last 35+ years has been to leave downtown LA, blast up the Pasadena Freeway, Exit at Orange Grove and go north past the Valley Hunt Club and Wriggly Mansion, turn right on Colorado and finally get on the 210 Freeway a few miles down the road. This has always provided the most amusing trip of the year seeing all the wackos camped out on the curb waiting for the parade to go by.

. I will be there too(Black /gold 67 gt500)...It is quite the show....
Well I decided what the Hell, its only rain, so I'll drive it anyway.
Thanks to Phil, Deb, Cory, Lauren, my wife and me for a good afternoon
Remember into all life a little rain may fall, by with good people come good times, Happy 2019 may it be a little drier than 2018
;D Thanks for the paper work /
great to meet some new faces from the forum . Cory and Laura
!
you were almost the recipient of genuine Bert Spriggs Lincoln/Mercury Technician Shirt circa 1970's Dealer Number 170001 (oldest single point Lincoln/Mercury Dealer in the World until it closed)
It was a great time and really nice meeting Phil and Deb. Just a little clarification my wife is Laura as I am sure we will all be getting together in the future.
Sorry, my Wife said it was Lauren, just for that mistake she'll have to clean the car tomorrow ;D
After 4 days of sitting in the driveway, it's finally dried up enough to get the car across the yard to its home in the trailer. The rain has been relentless this year and has caused a lot of shows and cruises to cancel. So the car is stored away with mud all over the tires and it needs a serious cleaning both inside and out. Probably won't take it out again until late March. Did take it out for a short 5 miles run to put some gas in it on Jan 1st 2019
Hopefully 2019 will be better year for driving
Happy New Year
^^
I took out the 67 RS/SS for gas and a New Years Day brunch ,..ditto
Taking out a different t 67 tomorrow
Maybe pics.......
New BiggieMobile.......
Stupid January weather in the 50's this weekend. Going out for a drive.
At least its not snow and ice, but the guy who lives next store is building boat and has been collecting animals
It's supposed to rain this weekend again and next week. :'(
No last ride in Dec BUT we went on a first ride on the 1st for the last cruise of the Viaduct here in Seattle that will be soon torn down.....here is a FB post.....https://www.facebook.com/events/266675147523128/314381692752473/?notif_t=admin_plan_mall_activity¬if_id=1546498826505574
