Title: Anti Wrap Up Bracket Hardware
Post by: 67GT500#1594 on December 09, 2018, 09:04:41 PM
All my hardware was pretty well tarnished. What was the plating used on the hardware? Was it cad plated or zinc phosphate? Trying to get the correct finish back on the car. It appears they were sprayed with undercoating over them too (partially), is that correct?

Many thanks!
Matt

No undercoating sprayed on hardware from the factory. The fender type sems bolts were phosphate and installed from the interior side . This was typically for all but the earliest cars . The nuts used in the case of the majority of production had no lock washer and was a simple hardware store zinc plated nut.
