Title: 1966 side scoop ID
Post by: rp04 on January 23, 2019, 08:24:32 PM
My 66 has one thick and one thin side scoop. I know they were on it in 1982 and am trying to find out which one or either is original. thanks for any help.

Hi rp04,

Check at Brant's blog site for the carry over side scoop.  There might be some hints there for you.

Best of luck.

I'd wager your thin one is original and the thicker one a fiberglass repro. The originals were smooth inside and out - molded the same way as Corvettes at the time with FG material put into a male/female mold and baked.

+1

That is also my impression of an original side scoops, smooth on the inside.
