Goodness ! Where to begin on this poor Cobra. :'(

I love it.
Nice to see a cobra that looks like a cobra hood scoop roll bar side exhaust wide wheels that's the way a lot of them ended up but most have been restored and all the cool stuff removed.
Not a good look for a 289 Cobra. Sidepipes, fenders flared, etc but to each his own.
You might want to look at it's history a bit. How cool to know it was owned by Carol Connors who wrote Hey Little Cobra? It has a VERY recent complete drivetrain overhaul . I assisted the owner with the original engine rebuild and I rebuilt the original aluminum T10 converting it to "no pop" ( out of gear) status , and rebuilt the original diff too. The flares and paint were done by a previous owner , not the current owner, who is a '65 GT350 ( original owner) as well.
This car has been on several Cobra 1,000 tours and has never been a DNF. Flairs and paint can be changed , history can not.
Respectfully ,

Randy, love that you brought out the history and truth of this car. Thanks
Is it currently listed elsewhere with possibly more images and an asking price?
Doug it's "all" there if you go to the right info spot. "I" encourage ANY of those who are interested in a CSX 2 or 3 thousand car to contact Ned or Lynn ( or your favorite Cobra expert) . Seven figure purchases should not be based on "I read on the internet, facebook , instagram ," etc unless it is from the actual seller. If one does, I have some ocean front property..............

The third image in the instagram listing has the contact info. on the windshield.
I think it is a very nice car! I attached a few pictures as well.
Here is a note about the car posted on social media:
Having owned it for 26 years and being 85+, the owners have decided it's time to sell their 1965 289 Cobra CSX 2544.
The car has several very good features and we have an idea of the selling price we would like. We thought, however, we would leave the final price up to reasonable offers from those interested. Having made up our mind to do this, we would like the sale to happen soon.
Some brief details for your consideration:
Calif. black license plate, 87 K miles, originally owned by Ms. Carol Connors of "Hey Little Cobra" fame, 3 owners since.
Original 5 bolt, numbers matching, motor with cast iron "Cobra" scatter shield bellhousing. Weber carburetors. Motor freshened 2015 at 84K miles, Evans coolant.
British racing green with Halibrand magnesium 9.5 inch GT40 wheels (have 5). Pin drive, side pipes, roll bar and aluminum fender flare coachwork by Mike McCluskey.
Heim joint suspension, rear mount battery, original windshield (?), original jack, custom made narrow spare wheel.
20+ year participant in the invitational "Cobra 1000" Tour. Have driven 12 western United States.
On loan to Peterson Museum for display during the 2006 "Cars & Guitars of Rock & Roll" Event.
Primarily pleasure driven plus many tour and show events. No track days or Vintage Racing.
I like it...The ONLY thing I would change is the wheels.I would then drive the hell out of it(in a thoughtful way... 8))
With those pictures, all I can say is I love it even more.
McClusky Rigging and flares..................I could live with that all day long.
Sounds like they are waiting to see how high the offers will be.
I agree. Thanks for posting the extra information and images. It looks nice and drivable. Not a show piece.
I've had my Cobra for 54 years. "Back in the day" it was cool to make your car like the Cobras Dave, Ken and Bob were winning races with. 2544 is one of those cars and it's as true a representative of that era as ANY.
More discussions about the car on CC if anyone was interested-

Sounds like the rumored ask is $1M.
IIRC , "asking" is a bit higher but your number "might" be one they would entertain. After 26 years of ownership (and 54 on their GT350) the reality of being 85 says NOW is the time to let it go.

FWIW, as others have said - if I were in the market for a Cobra this one is VERY appealing to me.
Would really want one that I could hop in and drive - I like the mods and the fact that McCluskey did them is a plus.
Would love to see it in person.
