Did Shelby actually see the car and sign it?

Anyone know first hand who the "restorers" of #69 might have been, the registry makes no mention of it.

Well someone is going to get 1 0f 562 made, its a 400,000 car I wouldn't worry about an air cleaner.

IF I recall correctly there was a discussion about the car back in 2007 on the forum. Wonder what the radiator is out of that's a might wide and thick one.

Nice car. Replacing the front core support shouldn't be a problem as other sheet metal also needs to be replaced if 'period correct' matters to new owner. Fuel pump and fastener issues more easily resolved.

There are a number of issues to fix if someone wanted a perfect specimen, but it is a nice looking car and was a high dollar sale at BJ in '08.

Lots of little opportunities for improvement, but it has the correct 16" steering wheel, which the ad states is 15"

Define "bid to" and by whom?

I was at Mecum Indy.   Listed some results in a Cobra post.
You never know at one of these auctions, but the $450k bid seemed legit, and it went to bid goes on.
The Cobra sales seemed like strong prices.  Dave.

It was a tongue in cheek comment .  Was it real money or was it shill bidding is what many wonder.

I wonder the same thing...was it real money?
Auctions can be tricky.  Even when a car "sells" there are instances when its "sold" to a friend of the auction house, the commission isn't paid by the "buyer" and the car pops up again at another auction a year later.

This seemed like a pretty strong bid for the car, but I didn't see it in person.  Non original engine I assume, but the car has some neat in-period history.  Seemed like a fair price to me?
