I have not seen the light blue circle, typically that is an "x" , so that must be a clue to the meaning?
sometimes the top cover has some numbers on it as well?
Nothing obvious on the top cover except for the LM stamping.

Are you able to make out more than 3 numbers beyond 8T? The reason I ask is I have an RUG-S trans and can only make out the first 3....makes me curious if they actually stamped 6?
On this unit, I can't make out the numbers past what you see. but luckily, the original engine and transmission were together and I could make out the partial Vin stamped on the back of the intake manifold. Some were definitely stamped better than others.

Yours is crystal clear compared to mine. A lot of guys say they can't find the number, but sometimes it is just too easy to miss. My eyes bled after staring at this one...
