Title: No. 22 is crossing the auction block today.
Post by: BGlover67 on April 06, 2019, 10:47:13 AM
Our friend Ruben is parting with no. 22 today at Mecum, Houston.  Let's all wish him well.  :)

I'm guessing it will cross sometime late afternoon.  The lot is S120

Thanks Brian!

It's a win-win either way. And, we'll see how she does. 👍🏻

Thanks to all! The buyer paid $187K all in, and Mecum cut me a sweet deal on the block.

I'm truly sad to see it go - she was the best sorted classic I ever had. And, I've got some other things  to keep me busy going forward. 😉

The best part: I got to let 2 youngsters sit in the car and have their pictures taken by their parents before it crossed the block. Priceless! 👍🏻

I think now, the few that didn't believe the impact that auctions have on these cars values has changed. Auctions have set the bar on sales prices for some time and will continue to do so. Congratulations to both buyer and seller!  :)

Auctions/auction results are one piece in the complicated puzzle of values.  Many classics, regardless of breed, get sold privately with price undisclosed.  I would suggest that an arms length/well negotiated sale is a better barometer of true value-especially over time.  Auction emotions can often run high and wallets-sometimes low.  Time of year and venue can also serve as key ingredients.  And, let's not forget to throw in what's actually being sold-every car, its condition, lineage etc. is different and must stand on its own.
