I have not seen an original production mat shaped like that in a 1968. Is it possible its a service part?

While we are talking about trunk mats? Has anyone ever had them restored? I have an original one with a small hole about the size of a 50 cent piece. Thanks Steve

Examined this ebay mat at the recent Columbus swap meet.

And????

While the speckled material (front and back), as well as typical service identification (stencil on the back) are what one should expect to find, the cut pattern has some features that vary from 68 factory mats I have seen.  It has some cut features that are seen on post 68 mats, plus it is not cut the same as factory 68 convertible or fastback mats.  Echoing Pete's comment, the service replacement mats apparently may have revised features for that point in time it was produced (post 68 model year).  Could it be cut for a 69 coupe???

I should add to my previous comments that someone else at Columbus wondered out loud if it could be cut for a 69 non-fold down??  I have no idea; others will have to weight in.

Thanks to you, Chris, we were able to clean and restore some color; still working on termite issues.
See you next week.
