Well, I'm thrilled to start getting my fix of all things Shelby. But, I have to ask...what happened to the old forum? And, is there anyway to retrieve the information houses on the old forum? :-\
If there was... it would be here.
Needed a clean reboot, unfortunately.
For a site that liked to consider itself the reference authority on all things Shelby, it is both shocking and sad that there was no back-up to either the cloud or an external hard drive.
Especially since it was obvious the site was struggling with issues for quite some time.
Nice to have the Forum back. I am sure it has been a long frusting process with many hours involved. Thanks for the effort. 8)
Hi Ron,
I'm assuming we lost the forum gallery/member gallery too?
Cheers,

Result of the rework on the SAAC site is a disaster. New site is worthless. Guess whoever did the work has never heard of the maxim, "if it aint broke, don't fix it". Just what I frequently ran into in my previous career in the business arena. Hope this does not destroy people's involvement in Shelby's. I'm afraid that will be the result from what is seen here.

With change comes minor hiccups, like todays spammer attack as the holes in the firewall get repaired.
Give it some time, don't make any rash decisions based on the first few days of operation.
Like myself, with countless posts and threads documenting the rebuild of my car to road worthiness, I believe most people will view this not as a disaster, but a fresh start, both to learn from the past, and relearn in the future.
It's unfortunate but I'm sure the Admin did everything he/she//they could.
The forum has been and will be the great resource that it is.
thanks much.
Wow...it's all gone. Nothing here but porn spam.
I'm very disappointed
All the input and gut wrenching emotion gone forever....
Like all the Kiwi info and tears....?
Here is the silver lining. Now I get a chance to have just as many posts as Pete D. and Bob G. . Who am I kidding in a week they will be far ahead of me. Hope we don't get discouraged and press on with the new site.
I miss the old days of the Snakebite. I also miss real cash registers, lead in the gas, and Leave it to Beaver on TV.
What a loss! Hey, lets blame it on the Russians! Yea, the Russians! Get Mueller on it! Dig Al Gore out of the ice and get him too! ;D
There was so much information lost. It's a hard lesson for SAAC to learn. Protect you data at all costs.
At least now I can start a new thread. "How many GT500 KR convertibles were actually built in 1968?" Nobody will be able to tell me "why don't you just do a search".

I am not a Newbie!!!!!! :-\
;)

Wow I thought it crashed from something I said.
Ok...I have been looking for a 66 GT350 Convertible. I think they made 6. Wife would really like to have the pink one if anyone knows where it is. ;)
Not that it will change things, but technically, what happened? Was it a hardware failure or some type of 'attack'?
I don't see losing all of the past information as a minor hiccup, more like a disaster.
Is the new forum tied to the club and our dues or another independent venture?
So said its all gone

it really is a monumental loss.
I'm still in denial ! what the heck ? is it even possible to back up a forum, surely it is. Of course I never back up (on a regular basis), and I wail like a white walker whenever I lose the last 6 months (or whatever time frame) of my work, But seriously, "....do as I say, not as I do..."

Wow ::) It is unfortunate that all the data is lost but I for one appreciate all the effort and time spent trying to revive the old forum. If we all look forward and put our "big boy drawers" on and with a positive attitude do our part, I think the new forum can be a treasure trove of information like the old one. I don't think any forum is why we are or aren't involved with Shelbys. Just my 2 cents. ;)

Thanks for all the work getting it back up and running so quickly.
Very sad it's all gone. It was such an epic resource for my resto and the advice given in the threads was priceless. Ah well, I gotta get over it and keep going..
Cheers
Guys,
I was wondering;
Many of use may have cut and printed topics of discussion from the old site.
Perhaps other links from the site, >>>>> live on in the web?
Just thinking out loud, because soooooooooooooooooooooo much was lost.
Can what we all have collectively be sorted out ?
With respect,
John
