Thank you...
I'm pretty sure that I have one? I have to find it though. Do you want me to go look for it?
Most of the ones I've seen on eBay recently have been repos, just something to be aware of...

Doug,
I would appreciate it if you would look.
Thanks,
Greg
Sure. I just saw this so give me a day or so. This was/is, a mint original as far as I can tell. I stashed it somewhere for safety and I need a hypnotist to put me in a trance so I can remember where it is?
I'll PM you when I find it.
Thank you, I know the feeling :D
Not trying to hijack this thread but just curious. I know original parts are usually better and more desirable, but for an application like this where the part is internal, is there any functional downside to using a repro part?

It's psychological. Reality usually hits when you see the price of the original vs. a repop.
That said, ALL things considered, an original is the way to go. Even the materials used on a repop might be questionable.
For example, there was an issue a few years ago with "counterfeit" SAE grade 8 bolts. Seems they really weren't grade 8?
Most people have no idea the quality level of components that were coming out of "Detroit" in the era.
Accountants have always been part of the problem. I like the term, "pencil necks". Many of them just have no effin' clue. When the thing blows up in the field, is responsible for killing a bunch of people who relied on it's accuracy, then there's a "Congressional hearing". Then the members vote on whether or not it will get them re-elected?
Accountability is "Guillotine" if you ask me? No one is asking me. They know what I will say. "Off with his/her head". ;)
Whats value of a nice original balancer?

I know someone who used a repo years ago and claimed it was lighter than the original. I seem to recall he said 3 ounces. He was building the motor from scratch and had it balanced anyway.
Thank you, I found one and the engine is built.
If anyone else needs an original , I have several , with gears , used , perfect condition. Not repops . $125 shipped in the USA for a counterweight , gear and roll pin. As ALWAYS 100% satisfaction guarantee! No pictures. PM me .
