Title: SAAC 44 - Concours judging/results
Post by: silverton_ford on July 15, 2019, 02:36:26 AM
How did the concours even go?  How many cars?

I had a lot of fun in this event last year.  Wish I made it this year....

I think there were six ten cars judged (sorry, I did not realize the 3 Cobras were being judged and I didn't see the Survivor car), others will know and post all the cars and how they finished.

Here is the '67 GT350 (car #151), always a small cluster of on-lookers around these cars, sometimes hard to get photos...

Seems like a small number, last time in PA there were a dozen 1968s?

Its unfortunate the club hasnt found a way to address the concours issues.....especially in light of the fact, so many club members think its important to keep it viable.

Hopefully this cyclical and not a trend.

I saw overall more cars on Saturday then the Saturday at Mid-Ohio.

I had a great conversation with Mr. Speegle, so much info and history.

The concours cars were at a different level, I was afraid to look at them for fear of burning mine to the ground

Less cars, less issues.

No cars, no issues.

Although fewer cars in concours compared to other years the cars were all of very high caliber as the show results testify to. Bystanders had extremely good examples of cars to compare notes on.

(Bob you've left yourself wide open  - but I won't do it.  That spell check doesn't like you)

Aren't we all? I've never met a word I couldn't misspell... including my own name! LOL!

JD once pointed out to me that Shelby's have 'wheel covers' not 'hub caps'.
I knew he was right. It's just that nearly everyone calls them hubcaps, even in the SAAC registry's.
Now every time I type hubcaps, I remember what JD said... and then erase, and correct the wording.
:P
I tend to drop my 'S's often on plurals. Spellcheck doesn't seem to catch that.

The gold '68 GT500 convertible with the supercharger caught my eye...as did that Upper Scoop Light '67 GT350 JD posted above.
