Came up for the time trials and saw Chip Gannassi hanging out at the Ford booth. It's raining now like an sob. Debating whether to stay the night for tomorrow's race. Last year of factory backed racing for the Ford GT. At Siebkens now in the pub. What a great area!

Love that track
Hope to drive it again someday.
The whole area is beautiful. Downtown Elkhart Lake, the actual lake, Siebkens, the hilly two lane blacktop. I could imagine retiring up here one day. But life never goes as planned, does it. That being said I plan to see the race tomorrow in its final glory. I told Chip I want him to win. I hope to get the autographs of the drivers on two canvass prints I brought of the GT racing at Le Mans...
Wearing my 1950s Suixtil racing clothing and Piloti driving shoes though I've never raced a car before. I'm being a poser but so what. And for the Corvette fans on this site, here's one I photographed for ye all.
That's outstanding! I've wanted to drive that track so bad! I hope some day I get the shot, even if its parade laps.
I saw you picture of the Ostoff Hotel. Funny story: my wife and family planned a trip to the Ostoff a few years back without checking on the happenings at RA. We pulled into the parking lot of the hotel, and saw tons of REALLY nice Ferraris parked everywhere! I couldn't believe it! Turns out that it was their annual global meetup which happened to be at RA. What an unexpected treat. :D

That's a rare and beautiful thing when the planets align like that. Living in Chicagoland isn't nirvana but being close enough to RA to drive a couple hours
is! More photos tomorrow gents.
Ford GT one and two today. What a great day. Many photos to follow. I'm in and out of a 4G dead zone. The four drivers were gracious to sign both of my Ford GT canvass prints before the green flag but hey it was an autograph session. I met Tommy Kendall of Trans Am Mustang fame and autographed a Ford Racing flag for me.
Good times Ford! I feel inspired to write a piano piece to the Ford GT...
As an addendum both Ford GTs passed post tech inspection.
I'm glad I waited until after the race aired on velocity/motor trend TV to read this thread...
Congrats to both teams and all the drivers for a 1-2 finish.
Glad to see them back in the winners circle two weeks in a row!

It's very cool to see the Miles - Hulme paint scheme winning at the tracks!
Rotated...
More pics after race plus signed photo canvasses.
More...including Road America dirt on the nose. (Which the crew began to wipe off) Nooo! But they need to look presentable at VIR...
More...Tommy Kendall, the Corvette pits, passing post race tech inspection and checking tire wear
More...for those into the new Vette, it was there.
Various sights. I really need to get a real camera if I want good photos. Some of the men at this event has incredible cameras with big lenses.
Spectator cars.
More...I have video I can post to the cloud. Later. I have to get up for court in the morning. Party's over but what a party! On a final note I caught up to the Ganassi truck and gave them the one two with my fingers and a thumbs up. The passenger in the cab waved. Fun day.
