Title: 69 GT500 Shocks
Post by: kasearch@ix.netcom.com on August 23, 2019, 08:45:57 AM
Since original ahocks are near unobtainium, what do you all recommend for recreating the look and performance of the shocks for the car (again, it is a 69 GT500).  I am NOT looking for concours, just very nice.

I have a set of 4 shocks with all the correct logos and numbers that were done by Dan Patch .  Took me 8 months to get them as he has an incredible backlog . Car left here without them.  Have $1600 invested .   If interested $1500 Postpaid .  Pics available next week

Four speed or Auto ? When was the car finished at Ford? Different type shocks with different colors depending on all these factors.

Even the shocks that look similar to the original 1969 shocks can be quite expensive.

Since all your shocks were originally white, you can use some aftermarket shocks, like KYB, and paint them.

Now, if you are going to show the car, welcome to the slippery slope. Its a long way to the top and its not a cheap ride . More on shocks...

Wow Bob, I learn more every day on these cars.  Mine is an Automatic with A/C. Built 6/13, Dearborn Plant. I will probably never show it for concours, but I do want it to have a good appearance. Plus I tend to "over restore" my cars anyway. But this is the way that I like them.
