This is an original GT500, Acapulco Blue, saddle, convertible. $5000
1 of 17 built (all 17 are currently on the road, so lawsuits are optional)

Ah...wow. :o
I wonder how they came up with that price? Not many 'crushed 1968 Shelby GT500 convertibles' around as comp's.
"Perfect project for an experienced body man" ;)
ok, so who's the seller. Sold many little Shelby related items recently. In Manchester Connecticut. Looks like a large display case in the back of the first image. Cleaning house? 8)
For the man that has everything ;)

Mustangs Unlimited has been slowly and semi quietly been selling off various cars and such for over a year. 8)
Anyone check the tags for matching numbers? ;)
Good item for a driving school to caution owners of special, high powered toys to learn how to handle thier investment properly.
That will buff out!!!
affordable and definitely not a trailer queen...my kind of car...
I can see enough in those photos to tell me its the real car.
I researched all 17 Blue/saddle GT500 convertibles to find the "Get Smart" car.
For the record

I wonder how much that weighs?
Nice ride....... :o
If someone loads all the pictures we can point out the Shelby unique parts
I would enjoy seeing that, Pete. Fun tutorial.
The registry indicates that this beauty was once owned by a Robert Gaines in the 90's. Was it still a mangled parts car at the time or was it a cube already?

Mangled parts car
Probably still beat a Corvette too
The Art Institute of Chicago should buy it for display. I've seen far worse where artwork displays are concerned. This one has some artistic value to it. Maybe a story behind it as well.
Dude I can fix it my old man's a TV repair man he has an awesome set of tools!!!
Chris
Well the grill is fairly obvious...
It shows to be a prior to Feb. 21 production, due to quarter reflectors. Anyone have the Marti?
My guess is that tie rod end won't have a B stamped.
Pete are you saying there is a car tagged 1740 on the road now?
There goes the value..........ooops
Frame machine?
I bet the Marti report says its "another" 1 of 1.
bumper to fender bracket
Definitely Mustangs Unlimited in CT. I recognize that heap having been to a few Sunday Show of Shelbys events over the past few years.
Images...first 4
second set...
Certainly looks like a project car ;D
Did they submit a current color photo for the 67 Registry? ::)
+1 That definitely needs to be in the registry.

Ahhh Peter DeSilva . I bought a set of 427 SC rims an tires from him in the early 70's before I even had a Cobra.
It is a GREAT piece of garage art. Not sure about $5,000 worth, but quite the conversation piece.
so is there a car tagged 1740 on the road now and titled as such?
Popcorn..........
See the original post, there are 17/17 Acapulco blue, GT500 convertibles, with saddle interiors still on the road
A paint color change comes to mind, for this cube, or one of the 17.
Cool man cave thing.
Biggie, I think you need this. Kiwi would've made one of his own, of course. Didn't he have a Snap-On car compactor in his back yard?
