Someone didn't proof read the text in the auction, says it has power windows.

The only convertible assigned to the EFI test program!

Does it have one of your EFI systems installed?

It does not have a Conelec system

It does not have a Conelec system

If someone was to want it added after purchase, would that be feasible?
Costs associated with said Conelec system?
Just wondering out loud  8)

It would be feasible. Right now, I believe there is only one source for the system.

 ;)

My thought process goes like this, original cars with original EFI systems are more valuable than cars without the system.

I am looking to buy a car, so it is not in my best interest to raise the prices.

I have demonstrated the parts are available and it can be done (twice)

The other thing going for me is the costs to recreate the system probably make it cost prohibitive.

On the outside chance my wife reads the forum, we probably shouldn't discuss the costs associated with this project in open forum. But let’s call it substaintial.

There was a 1969 GT350 at MCACN a couple of years back claiming a similar heritage

It looked pretty nice, but apparently if it had the fuel injection nobody seemed to be around to answer any questions
It’s amazing how many one offs and engineering cars still exist

It does not have the EFI

Currently 68#101 and Craig Jackson’s Green Hornet are the only original EFI cars with working systems

Hi, All,

I DO have an affiliation with this car  ;D Here's a better link to the actual listing on Mecum's site vs. the HMN feeder:

https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0120-396993/1969-shelby-gt500-convertible/

I've asked Mecum to edit to PW part I don't know where they got that from. As for the EFI it was always my plan to have a fellow Wisconsinite buddy of mine (ahem! PETER  :D) help me return it to the way it was at Shelby with a Conolec system on it. But, try as I might as Pete mentioned he is trying to source a Conolec car of his own so is holding tight to the EFI bits hidden under his mattress for the time being.

So, 0006 remains today as it was when it was shipped to the Hertz Corporation in late '69 with its original CJ intake and carb on it currently.

It's a great car and if anybody is heading to Mecum please look me up- I'll likely be standing guard near the 13 cars I'm bringing (yikes) and it would be great to see some SAAC folks!

Happy Holidays to you all,

Colin

Only thing that would make that car look any better would be my boney ass sitting in the drivers seat , in my driveway of course ! Damn I wish I could hit just one lottery :)

Thanks David and Corbins, yes, hard to sell off these cars but I'm losing a 17,000 foot building and being forced to downsize a bit. They are all really great cars and I hope they find good homes- maybe even ones that will let me visit  :)

Best Holiday Wishes to all of you and yours!
