Amazing pic!
Seems it wasn't that out of the ordinary to have a tow hitch on cars then. A '68 Shelby a friend of mine bought was used by the original owner to tow his sailboat!
Was that Wayne Currys tow rig?
That guy knew (knows) how to wheel & tire a car. 8)

Did he have more than one?

First photo looks pretty sketchy from standpoint of stability.

I'm thinking the 68 is just backed up to the Trailer to keep someone from hooking up to the trailer and leaving with it.
You guys must not be out west where some states allow double trailering.
Imagine a F250 with a 38' long camper/trailer hanging on the back, then a 19' boat & trailer connected to the back of the 38' camper trailer.
Now THAT is insanity.

All depends in what part of the country you live in I'd say. Where i'm at in W.North Carolina they're mountains at every direction of the compass. STEEP mountainous road and interstates. In every direction from me at least a 200+ mile radius. We see double tractor/trailers, but I've never seen anything smaller than that with double trailers around the southeast.
Can't imagine pulling a trailer with anything other than a dedicated tow vehicle.
Times were different then tho...
very kool pics

My neighbor in Michigan does that routinely, living on a dead end road, it's a pain in the ah... neck because he blocks the whole road loading and unloading.
Now, THIS, is insanity:

I agree...insanity! Looks like a recipe for disaster.
Riding my bike yesterday saw some guy in a full-size sedan towing another guy in a full-size sedan with 15 ft. Of nylon rope through the middle of pasadena..but that's nothing...I once had my buddy tow my v.w. thing 3 miles home with a GARDEN HOSE!!!....good times...
Cool Combo......

SUPREMELY cool combo! Thanks for sharing!
I think Kopec may still have a picture of towing around Mel Wentzle's 289 Cobra with the 66 Hertz car? I haven't seen that one in centuries?
If he posts it, look at the brake scoops he made out of Tupperware utensil holders? He was ahead of his time. Now you just cut them with a 3D printer. Who knew?
Very cool, right down to what looks like a DC-3 in the background.

At least it's got tandems, not like a few Daytonas on this thread being towed by a station wagon and a single axle trailer and the tongue about dragging the ground!!! YIKES
Didn't Carroll have a DC-3?
The Dad of one of my college buddies bought a new 68 GT500 to pull his drag boat.
