This jumped out at me at a swap meet several years back.  It's a California state issued specialized plate for vehicles from 1922 and earlier or vehicles with an engine that has 16 or more cylinders manufactured prior to 1965.  I have no vehicle that qualifies but that's my Shelby number!  It's in very nice condition and the price was quite reasonable.  I just had to create some confusion by adding the Shelby frame.

I've attached a photo of part of the back page from the Motor Wheel catalog for 1970.  They provided the unique Magnum 500 for the '66 Hertz Shelby.  I was hoping to find some correlation between the "1059" that I mentioned earlier and the catalog's wheel number of 36046 which is for the 6" Hertz Magnum.  No luck.  On rare occasion you might see a sticker on the inside of the wheel with ID info.

Denny,

I remember this being brought up before, maybe during the "old" forum.  I don't believe any conclusive information was provided other than wheels with these stampings might be post '66 and were found on wheels manufactured after that time.  I just sold a matching set to a forum member and they all had the same stamping as yours but with different characters.  I'm pretty sure that all four wheels had "4-2-68" along with "1059" handwritten with a marker on the inside.

I picked up this '68 Shelby brochure originally from Gilboy Ford in Allentown, Penn.  I haven't seen much from this dealership in the past.  According to one of the SAAC annuals they sold 62 Shelbys.  I also found a newspaper ad from the Morning Call newspaper in Allentown.  Below is a link to a much better image than the attached photo.

Is there any information available regarding this book such as write-ups, content, number of pages, critiques, etc?

Here's a pic of one of my wheels with my new BF Goodrich tires.  I'm very satisfied with the look.

Here is a metal sign that I purchased about 15 years ago that was purportedly from an airport back in the day.  Also shown is a later light-up sign that I added to my collection maybe around 10-12 years ago.

Appeals / Indoor Car Cover Recommendation for Cat Owners
« on: February 01, 2024, 01:54:08 PM »
It's time to give our indoor 1-1/2 year old sibling cats full run of the house.  This includes the garage (ouch!).  Looking for recommendations for an indoor car cover that would provide maximum protection from potential cat scratches.  I now use a couple of inexpensive covers with donated blankets, throws, comforters, etc. underneath.  They worked previously with our other cats but what a hassle!  Looking to be able to just use a cover only on each car to simplify things.  Any other cat + Shelby owners out there?  Thanks, in advance, for any recommendations.

I just viewed the auction and it shows 6 days to go with a $3500 current bid.  Am I missing something?
