Cars For Sale / 1969 Shelby GT 350, 4 speed
« on: March 05, 2024, 01:06:26 PM »
Guys, not mine, but was told about it last night.
Car is located in the dry south west .
Marti report, never cut on, original panels 4 speed, A/C, and the typical std items.
Show paint, mirrored underneath at showings, 44K documented miles.
factory marks, belts, hoses, goodyears etc
He said  he wants 125K.
Being it takes 50-100K to do a car like this, maybe fair money ?

Parts For Sale / C5AE-D aluminum 289 water pump
« on: August 28, 2023, 04:36:26 PM »
C5AE-D, clock has a 70 on the inside.
The outlet of the pump has no typical heavy corrosion.
Gasket surface is also exceptional, 0 corrosion
Quite a nice casting to rebuild.
Have not blasted it, I think a chemical cleaning is best >>> would leave a nice smooth original finish.
Price is $90.00 plus the ride.
Thanks

Guys
a buddy has a set of big brakes off a 1966 telephone company van.
To my best, I do believe this is what Carroll used for the 65-66 ?
Decent usable drums and plates
Any idea of value,?
Not sure if the axles would be the same length of not?

Wanted to Buy / winfield racing carbs
« on: June 24, 2023, 10:07:15 AM »
By chance, does anybody here have any Prewar WINFIELD racing carburetors ?
Or know a old dog not at SAAC that has some stashed away.
Parts carbs are ok too.
Downdraft or updraft.
S or SR is OK.
From what I have seen, they are single barrel carbs for the most part.
Harris twin cam, twin ign and twin carb.
Thanks

Guys,
Building a basic 302, 68 date coded, with basic stock heads.
I will use the 4300 Ford carb, cast intake, stock distributor, triple tree vacuum etc, being built for Ford, SAAC and Italian Invitational use.
I am going to balance the lower end.
I would like a hyd cam that comes on around 2500 and fizzles out around 6.5 K
My buddy Bill mentioned a hyd cam by crane, that has real close specs to a 65-66 shelby cam.
That idle, sound and lope is fine with me,

Want to get it ordered, please voice a few modern day specs you guys think will suit expectations !
last time I built a 289/302 was in mid 1990's, kind of out of touch.
Thank you guys
John

Wanted to Buy / new corvette wanted
« on: May 03, 2023, 04:14:48 PM »
Guys,
These cars are not for me.
Any SAAC guys with GM connections here ?
A car buddy from another country asked me to post this as a favor,
He is a check writer for 2-Z06 cars , preferred with the  ZO7 package, he really wants no miles to under 150 miles.
I have no idea what the prices are on these cars ?
I am going to ask him that question the next time we correspond. !
Feel free to contact me, I will put you in contact with my buddy.
Thanks

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / question on 67 shelby gt 500 blocks &
« on: March 18, 2023, 10:40:59 AM »
I maybe get the search engine to find me a post about 40% of the time.
A old buddy called and said an old yard was being cleaned out, and there is a stach of blocks in a building
My question;
Is a C6ME block with an A scratch on the back of block usable or correct for a 67 500?
crazy, but there is no dash letter ?

A 289 std block, date code 5-L-19 was another
He is going to get me a list of all the blocks.
Also having me get starter and alternator numbers >> he said there must be at least 50 of them from prior to 1970

Thanks
John

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Ford GT 40
« on: March 14, 2023, 10:01:34 AM »
Guys,
I was told about a GT 40 that is being privately offered for 8 1/2 Million Dollars.
My question;
How many GT 40's are worth that kind of asking price ?

I know my friend George 's old #2 Black GT 40 sold>> reports I read, for over 20 Million last time around?
respectfully,
John
