This engine was in may dad's old 1962 Galaxie 500. It was an original 406 car - he bought a new short block from Woody Anderson Ford in Huntsville , AL. Has C2SE 406 heads, 406 tripower, puke tank, generator, flywheel. Has XE scratch on back of block.

He used to hook it up to a battery and turn it over once in a while but since he moved, it has not been turned over in 15+ years. Has been stored inside the entire time.

Block casting number is C5AE-A, cross bolted.

Engine is located in Huntsville, AL.

In the classifieds, http://www.saacforum.com/index.php?topic=18816.0, the seller states that the car is one of 404 4 speed convertibles, but one of only 214 with a particular engine/transmission code. For '68 GT-350 convertibles, what other engine/4 speed trans combos could there be? Were there close/wide ratio 4 speeds like the Boss 302?

When was the last '66 made? In the for sale section is a T-10 listed as correct for a late '66, has a date code of 7-27-66.

Seems like there would have been some delay even after the case was cast (assembly, shipping, etc.), making this available even later in the year.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 67410F2A01865

Found some old pics of this car when I owned it back around 1988. I bought it from Hap Hargrove in Ardmore, AL for $10000. Sold it about a year later to Pete Geisler at Orlando Mustang for $12000. Car had a single 4 barrel intake (the C7ZX dual intake was in the trunk when I bought it.) It was painted black instead of Dark Blue. It had smooth seat inserts. It also had 14 inch Magstars - not sure where they came from.
