Hey Guys,

Broadway stuff can be tough to find so posting this in the hopes that someone with a Broadway delivered car might like to have it. Broadway was KC's only Shelby dealer from 65-67...quite a few cars were delivered there although finding dealer emblems from them can be tough.  No affiliation with the seller..

Hey Guys,

A fellow forum member informed me through Facebook this morning that Randy Gillis passed away on October 1st.

There was another thread titled something like "where's Randy Gillis" on which a couple posts were made this week about Randy's passing, however, I feel that a guy like Randy deserves a designated thread where we can all acknowledge and admire the bright light that Randy was in this hobby.

Being a Midwest guy, my chances to spend time with Randy were generally limited to conventions but Randy was always one of the top people I most looked forward to spending a little bit of time with. As a young guy in the hobby, Randy was the most gracious, accepting, enthusiastic, and outright positive guys. He always seemed eager to help me in any way that he could...always wanted to teach...always seemed highly interested in what I was up to in this hobby/business.  That sort of enthusiasm goes a long way for young dudes in an older man's hobby who are trying to find a place within it.

His knowledge of these cars and especially their drivetrains was beyond reproach...but more important was his willingness to share that knowledge with those who sought it. His posts on this forum and the old forum are/were always a treat to read.

He was one of my favorite people in the hobby...I'll miss him greatly.

Kind regards,
Vern

Howdy folks!

Looking for an original 15 inch "slotted" steering wheel for a 1965 GT350 as well as an original S1MS hub.

Looking for a friend with a great, original 65. If anyone has one or both items... we know that the parts won't be cheap. Not looking for repop stuff.

Please reach out via PRIVATE MESSAGE or text message to 913. 687. 1sixsix 8 if you have something!

Pic for attention!

Hey guys!

Just wanted to drop a wanted ad for the below parts as Charles and Nathan Turner are currently in the process of completing a preservation-style recommissioning of a very special 68 Shelby for me. The car is a factory Black/Black GT350 convertible with factory air and automatic transmission. The car is special because it has just come out of the ownership of its original owner. The ole girl has had a paint job but is otherwise mostly an unrestored car...really sweet, honest car. We are looking to clean the car up, rebuild the required systems, and add what original/used/nice parts we can find to match the originality and integrity of the car. If you have any of these parts in unrestored but presentable condition, we'd love the chance to put them on a worthy car!

Please PM me here on the forum or send me an email at vestes85@gmail.com if you have something!

Hey Guys,

Ive got a repop 65 steering wheel which will be going on a daily driver type car that I am currently building. Have any of you ever tried to add more dish to one of these wheels?

This particular steering wheel has more dish than a lot of the very flat reproductions out there but it still bothers me that it doesnt have the amount of dish that a real 65 wheel has.

Any general directions or suggestions are welcome!

Thanks!
Vern

Howdy folks!

Just wanted to alert the forum that a car which was once the topic of discussion for its own build thread is ending tomorrow on BringATrailer.com at absolutely NO RESERVE!

This car was a painstaking, high quality build which was completed with the best of everything...absolutely no expense was spared in the production of the car. In addition, while the components of the build are absolutely "second to none" the car still appropriately and respectfully pays hommage to the original Shelby GT350Rs which trounced the Corvettes in B/P SCCA racing in 1965-1967!

Climbed under a 66 which I will be restoring soon to check the Konis. Low and behold, this is on the passenger back side of the car...

I've passed these photos to a few people...haven't come across anyone anyone who has seen anything like it yet.

Figured it would be a fun exercise to throw it out on the forum and see what anyone else either knows or theorizes...

Kind regards,
Vern

Hey Guys,

Have a really fantastic customer and friend who wants me to help him find a 68 GT350 convertible. Looking for something in driver condition or better...not really looking for a perfect concours type car but would at least consider it.

Not looking for projects or dishonest cars. Also not looking to steal anything...he has a realistic budget and a small block 68 vert is his grail car.

Kind regards,
Vern

Hey Guys!

Haven't taken professional photos of this car yet as it just got here a few days ago. Figured I'd throw a preliminary ad out there in case anyone is looking for a great 67 GT350~!

67211F7A01746

-Originally delivered in the Houston area, later moving to AZ. The car was a beautiful original paint car prior to being restored in the early 1990s to concours specifications. No rust or accidents whatsoever... perfect original sheetmetal and fiberglass throughout
-Complete original drivetrain from front to back
-3 owners from new
-All the big parts are here and original such as its date coded original 3259 carb with dash pot, original spare tire...the car is loaded with great parts as it was restored back when the best repop parts weren't yet produced and good stuff was still floating around
-Only driven 50 or so miles since restoration, still presents extremely well today, goes done the road very nicely.
-Perfect aprons, immaculate original VIN tag, all stampings present and original
-factory tinted glass all around is original to the car and in great shape
-Super rare factory air.....the list goes on and on.

Quicky photo album here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/uJPoj1LpFu5xXnnZ9

In today's market, it's difficult to find decent 67 GT350s.....but its nearly impossible to find spotless, highly original, absurdly honest cars like this one. Wanted to throw this out there for SAAC guys real quick but keep in mind that the car has not had any detailing or cleaning before popping off the pictures.

A great example which could be left as is for the purist...or throw a 4/5 speed in it to make the ultimate touring car!

Price: $165,000

Wanted to Buy / WANTED: Original 1965-66 Ray Brown Lap Belts
« on: July 09, 2022, 10:31:11 AM »
Hey Guys!

Wanted for a keeper I will be restoring soon. Would buy in any condition (from perfect restored to terrible and in need of restoration)  but would prefer a set of gently worn original belts which could still look good sitting in a restored/nice driver car...I like how the leather pads look after 50 years of use.

I would possibly consider "Impact" labeled belts but the car I am doing is probably a little too early to justify having impacts in it.

Don't need a deal on them, just need to find an honest set of belts.

PLEASE PM or text 913.687.1668 or email at vestes85@gmail.com with anything you might have.

Thanks guys!

Vern
