1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Sequential lights help please
« on: March 14, 2024, 02:20:03 PM »
Hey All,
Recently purchased a 69 GT350. The tail lights were not working but the PO had purchased a repro sequencer. Plugged it in and driver side works but passenger side does not. Checking the wiring with a test light before the box and the White/Blue wire gets power and flashes, but how does the White/Blue wire get power to the Orange/Blue, is the wiring wrong? Or possibly the new sequencer?

Thanks,
Tom

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Master cylinder rebuild kit
« on: March 21, 2023, 07:35:15 PM »
Hey All,
Looking to rebuild my master cylinder. When I look online, the kits available say "All except GT350". I'm not sure why the notation, other than maybe they are referring to a MICO master? Seems to me any kit for disc brakes would work, right? If not, can someone refer me to the correct kit.

Thanks,
Tom

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / A shout out to a great member
« on: January 21, 2023, 09:18:33 PM »
Hey All,
I just want to give a shout out to Rraceme (Fred).
I met Fred through this forum. We have a camaraderie in that our two cars #2227 & 2228 are sequential numbers from both Shelby AND the San Jose factory. Both Sapphire Blue.
About a month ago, someone pointed out to me that I was missing the bracket for the torsion spring on the trunk lid. I asked Fred if he happened to have one.
Not only did Fred locate one, he blasted it, painted it Sapphire Blue, and send it to me. I offered to pay him, but he wouldn’t accept a dime.

Since buying my car in 2021, I've found that the Shelby community is the best group of motorheads I've ever met.

It’s people like Fred that is what makes this group so great.

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / 66 tach help
« on: December 05, 2022, 07:03:12 PM »
Hey All,
Wondering if this is correct. The date on my tach is April 19 1966. The wires look wrong in color and gauge. The other tachs I’ve seen have red, black, and blue wires. Mine are red, green, and yellow. Also the gauge of the wire seems smaller than the other wires under the dash. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Tom

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Holley 3259 date
« on: June 10, 2022, 12:37:12 PM »
What would be the acceptable date code for Holley carbs on 66 GT350's in relation to build date at SA. Since they were installed at SA, there would have to be lag time for Holley to build, ship, inventory at SA, and wait to use up available stock. Late April build.

Thanks,
Tom

Kinda fun article. I wonder who now owns it :)
Hopefully text is readable.

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / 3259 differences
« on: February 03, 2022, 09:27:45 PM »
I have 2 different 3259 carbs. I realize neither of these are SA assembly line units, but what are the differences based on the numbers?

Thanks,
Tom

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Speedo parts
« on: February 03, 2022, 09:12:17 PM »
I was removing my gauge cluster and noticed the rubber cushions on the attaching screws was deteriorating. Does anyone know where to get these? Could they be a hardware store item, maybe a rubber grommet?

Thanks,
Tom

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Correct speedo gear
« on: September 30, 2021, 03:43:45 PM »
Hey All,
I just switched back to the original T-10 from a T5 WC. The speedo didn’t work after install and I found the gear munched.
Is the gear the same as the T5 or is it a left hand gear like in the Toploader?

Thanks in advance.

« on: September 20, 2021, 09:49:36 PM »
Hey Gang,
On the under rider traction bars there are a stack of washers. Are they there for adjustment/alignment?
If so, what is the procedure for that?

Thanks in advance

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Introduction and a question
« on: April 02, 2021, 04:47:17 PM »
Hello All,
Long time lurker first time post. After being on my bucket list for over 35 years, I finally purchased a GT350. As a young man, one of my co-workers had (and still has) a ‘65 GT350. I was a Camaro/Corvette guy at the time and the ribbing back and forth was constant :) . We have remained friends and he helped me with the purchase on this car.
It is 6S2228, Sapphire Blue 4 speed car. Originally a stripe delete, 10 spoke but the stripes were added during a repaint in the 80’s. A T-5 was installed by the previous owner. Both the T-10 and 10 spokes are in the garage. The car also came with chrome Magnums and Torq Thrust.... too many choices

I do have a question that I can’t find during a search. What is the correct bulb for the tach? The one I pulled out was burned out and I’m not sure it is correct. I replaced it with a 1895 (same as dash bulbs) ad was so dim I couldn’t see anything. I don’t want to put the wrong bulb in for fear of damaging the tach.

Looking forward to being part of this great community,

Tom
