CSX 2000 Series / Joining the ranks of Cobra owners...
November 07, 2023, 10:53:43 AM
I've added CSX 2500 to my stable of Shelby automobiles.  It's a really cool example retaining its original drivetrain.  The body was replaced by Shelby (according to the original owner) in the late '60's with a narrow hip 427 body.
A pic from the early 1970's and now...

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / PPF film pattern
March 31, 2023, 11:19:10 AM
Hey all,
Is anyone aware of a pattern or PPF company who sells cut film for a "67 Shelby?
I drive my car and I'd like to protect the front end.

Don't really want to discuss the good, bad etc. on film vs. no film, just looking to see if the car is in anyone's database.
I searched around I didn't see anything online.

Thanks,

Mike C.

Hey all,

Considering a purchase of an original set of '65 Cragar wheels vs. a repro set.
The original wheels will need to be restored, replated at the least, maybe re-rimmed.
Once a set of original wheels is restored, are they indistinguishable from a new set?

If the repro's are made with original tooling, are they not going to be identical to a restored set?  I'm assuming a restored set has the rims removed, plated and then welded back on...

To me a part is only original once, when its "restored" it isn't truly original.  Maybe it's a matter of semantics, but that's my point of view.

Thanks.

Appeals / Need car looked at in Raleigh, NC.
October 19, 2022, 10:19:44 AM
Hello,

I need a "Shelby" looked at in Apex, NC, just southwest of Raleigh.  It's a 1986 GLHS Omni.  Yes-don't laugh they are collectible.
You don't need to be an expert on this type of car, I just want eyes on the car, look it over for any repairs or damage, listen to it run.
It's a 13,000 mile survivor and looks very nice in pictures.

I'll compensate for time/gas.

Please PM me or email at:  Cincyboathouse@gmail.com

Thanks!

Need correct wheel for '67 Shelby.  Sounds like there are a couple types, looking for brushed center, short tabs.
Prefer a wheel not needing restoration.

I have a '66 EFFPI wheel in perfect condition to trade if intested.

PM me please.

thanks.

Who are you guys using for insurance?
I have a policy with Heacock Insurance and the carrier is American Modern Insurance.  I think there was a recent change with American Modern.
My rates have gone up.
I've got 5-6 cars covered with them.

Anyone else using another insurer and have any recommendations?

Thanks,

1965 GT350/R-Model / For you '65 GT350 sleuths...
February 09, 2018, 02:52:19 PM
Here are pics of a hood I recently acquired (A craigslist find!).  It came from Washington State, where it was supposedly removed from a '65 that had been raced in that area, 30+ years ago.

Does anyone recognize the numbering on the hood?  On the underside there seems to me valve adjustment info and timing info possibly?

My assumption is that this is indeed and original hood.  It needs some repair but is generally in good condition.
