I just saw this on my news feed. A garage of a home east of Sacramento (Citrus Heights) went up in flames. In the pic I can see what looks like a red 67 Shelby convertible amount other cars according to CBS news. Sad

Hello folks,

I'm re-posting this as my original post had the wrong information. Thanks Cory and Dave.
Back to my early start of spring cleaning.

Original S2MS 9424-A Intake Manifold
These were found on the Later 66 GT350's where the lower corner of the A of COBRA next to the distributor was modified or ground for clearance.
Offenhauser stamped on the underside
Heat shield in place
I believe the original carb studs (I could be wrong)
No stripped holes, no repairs, no helicoils, water corrosion is minimal
No modifications no porting
All mounting surfaces are good.

$1500.00 plus UPS Shipping whatever that is.

Cheers,

Parts For Sale / Lakewood scatter shield
February 05, 2023, 11:54:33 PM
This Lakewood scatter shield I had fitted/trimmed and clearanced for a set of headers. It had been cad plated silver.
You can see where it mated to the block on the block plate. I had it trimmed very close in the starter area.
There is an extra set of holes for a T5 transmission if you choose. I used it with a top loader.

$250.00 plus UPS shipping

Parts For Sale / Bud Moore Shock Tower spacers
February 05, 2023, 10:53:54 PM
Okay, this is not a Shelby part. Instead of putting spacers under the mount of the top of the front shock. Most folks think this is to prevent the shock from bottoming out because the upper A arms were lowered. WRONG
It places the piston on the shaft towards the center of the piston travel. Race tracks are smooth. The piston is NOT going to bottom out! This was a Bud Moore piece.
I have two (2) sizes/thickness' for sale
1/4" $75.00 pair
Or
3/8" $75.00 pair

Once they are painted they disappear when mounted

Use an electric fuel pump instead of a mechanical one.

I think I can get away with this. This timing cover came to me as NOS never been mounted, NO WITNESS MARKS on the crankshaft seal hole/area. bolt head surfaces, water passage surfaces etc. BUT, I did have my machinist plug the big Oil fill/breather hole. I also had the little breather passage notch welded and milled closed. He also milled the waterpump surface flat as with a new EdelBrock waterpump (#2241?). It also comes with a new but painted dipstick tube I got from Jim Cowles (RIP).
I was going to use this on my engine build but the new M-6010 BOSS302 block takes a different timing cover!!! Ack!
So, here it is. Still no crank seal installed.

The modifications to the timing cover can be reversed. Remove the plug and add a notch to the mounting surface.

What you see is what you get.

$500.00 plus UPS shipping whatever that is to your zip code.

Hello All,

I don't know if you guys have seen this, up for auction is CSX2427 Factory built Stage III Dragon Snake. Not mine (I wish). It just came across my news feed. Lemme see if this link works. If not I'll redo it.

Hello guys,

I'm looking for either an MSD #8483 289-302 Tach Drive Distributor or Ford Motorsport's version M-12127-304A Tach driven distributor (it's actually built by MSD, I believe). Needs to be whole/complete (no missing parts) and working. From early to mid 1980's time frame.
It's for the 8.2" deck height block or the standard 289/302/Boss302 etc.
if you've got one kicking around, I'd love to take it off you hands. It's for a special winter project of mine.
It looks like this (see pic).

Thanks in advance.
Cheers

Okay,
I'd typically have the shop do suspension/steering work, but because I'm not presently home in California and the car is in New York I decided to do a number of projects like replace the steering box with the correct HCC AX that Jim Cowles (RIP) rebuilt for me.

So, I've since pulled the engine/trans etc and I'm now to the point of separating the steering arm from the center link. If I used a pickle fork (ball joint separator) I'll ruin the rubber seal. Are there replacement seals? I've screwed on a nut onto the threads and attempted to hit it with a hammer and not damage the threads. Maybe I'm not hitting it hard enough?
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
~Earl J

First off, I don't care for the term "Barn Find" it's so over used. Anyway being and staying in our Northern NY home due to COVID I've been skiing quite a bit. One of my retired (75yo) skiing buddy/friends said his neighbor has a Shelby body he wants to get rid of, knowing I was into these things. I asked what year. He didn't know. He had his neighbor call me. It turns out someone who owed him money gave him the car. He himself didn't know what year it was thinking maybe 67-69? He's not a car guy. Just told it was a Shelby. Came out of the persons garage that owed money into his garage/barn sat in his garage for 10+ years. Getting his property ready to sell so he can move to Florida. He wants this gone.

My friend Jerry and I stopped by his garage to take a quick look last week Thursday on our way back from Gore Mountain. The neighbor wasn't home but we looked anyway. I'm not a 68 guy. This is more a Pete Disher, Bob Gaines, Special Ed or shelbydoug expertise. I took a few pics in the short time I was there. There was too much stuff on the car to look for a VIN stamping under the hood. But the body pieces were definitely 68.
I'm heading there tomorrow to uncover it or at least look under the hood. There is no motor, trans, interior is disassembled (mess). I was told it rolls.
Here's my question. If there is no tag, are the inner fenders stamped like the 65/66 cars? I have the current registries to the early cars but not the later 68-70 cars. What will I see or look for on a 68?

I asked the owner over the phone when we spoke last week if there was a tag on the driver side inner fender. He said there was but the previous owner sold it. (?!!!) I thought how is that possible?

This county of New York are predominantly farmers, dairy farmers and Amish.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
~Earl J

Okay fellas,
Here's my plan for the upcoming winter project. I'm re-doing (or at least attempting to) doing this engine I built 2 1/2 years ago. This 326 stroker Boss block, Webered motor.
The current cam that's in it is a solid lifter flat tappet (0.517 IN, 0.536 EX @valves and 239 IN, 249 EX duration @ .050" and 112 lobe separation. Replacing it with Crane Cams " COMPUCAM HI-ROLLER" series 0.534 IN 0.534 EX @valves and 234 IN, 244 EX duration @.050" and again 112 degrees lobe separation.
It's just a bit more, not too radically different, profile wise but yet streetable So I'm told. It's a solid roller billet cam.
So...to retain the "look" I'm after with the stock HiPo distributor. I need a bronze gear change.
Question is who has one or makes one for this application? This is probably a "Randy gt350hr" question, but I thought to post it.
Thanks,
~Earl J

I thought I'd seen everything I could possibly see this past week on the Monterey Peninsula car wise. On the way home my sister called and said stop by if I had time. So I did and decided to kill several hours having bailed out of Monterey before the traffic got real ugly. We chatted talked cars etc. She asked me if I wanted to go to the Burlingame Street Fair. Sure why not.
Four bands, great food, lots of fair stuff... okay
On the way back to the car I see this:

Made my day
