CSX 3000 Series / what fuel pump is original to 427 Cobras?
« on: January 13, 2024, 04:09:49 PM »
The Shelby parts book lists C5AE-9350-G as the pump for Shelby 427 Cobras. However, it doesn't list a manufacturer or a model number.
My 1967 Ford Master Parts catalog lists AC pumps 0294 and 6974 and Carter 4441 as "427" pumps of various years.
My Carter pump catalog lists AC model 4918 for the 427 engine.

My Master Parts catalog doesn't list a C5-9350-G pump.

So, what pump(s) actually came with the 427 powered Cobras as delivered?

Wanted to Buy / AC fuel pump # 0294 or 40294 needed

I have the original 428 Police Interceptor in CSX 3288 but don't have the 0294 fuel pump that I believe the car came with. I have other rare parts to trade or buy it outright.

I have used these original American Racing wheels on CSX 2401 intermittently for about 30 years. They were an option from Shelby American and listed in the Shelby parts book.
I now use chrome wire wheels and don't have space to store these anymore. See the ad for more information and photos. These are probably the rarest of all American Torq-Thrust wheels, with the spine drive version thought to have been specifically made for the 289 Cobras.

If you are going to the Hilton Head Concours and are passing  through central North Carolina on your way, I have an NOS Michelin XWX tire that I need to get to someone at the show.
Please let me know if you can help me with this. Thanks. Jim

Please see my ad in Parts for Sale for these very rare original 289 Cobra 7.35 x 15 white wall Goodyear Power Cushion tires and like new Dunlop 70 spoke chrome wire wheels.
I am no longer showing my CSX 2401 in Concours for judging so I don't need these anymore. The treads are almost like new (one is NOS). If you want to show your Cobra in Concours, this is what you should have. I also have unmounted original Power Cushion tires that can be used for your spare tire.

This set of original white wall Goodyear Power Cushion tires are in excellent condition, one NOS and the other three showing very minimal wear to the outside treads. They are mounted on like new Dunlop chrome wire wheels from the Motor Wheel Service in England. The model is the XW5726 wheel, the current successor to the XA464 chrome wire wheels that originally came on 289 Cobras.
These are the ultimate tires for Concours judging. I assembled this set over years of looking and won the Best of Class (Cobra) at the 2015 French Lick Concours where Shelby was the featured mark, beating a Platinum SAAC 289 Cobra by 1/2 a point, likely due to this set of wheels and tires.
They are not suitable for regular driving, being 58 years old and due to being bias ply tires to boot!
I no longer Concours my car, preferring to drive it regularly.
This size Power Cushion tire is not reproduced. $5000 OBO

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Original 1967 Autoilte battery
« on: May 27, 2020, 07:44:01 PM »
I found this battery in a '60s vintage Mercury station wagon in a junkyard a few years ago. The hood was stuck down due to collision damage so the battery was never removed. I was able to open the hood and extract the battery. Anyone know how to interpret the dates and other markings?

I sprayed the battery with Armorall to make the markings more apparent for photography, hence the white stuff ourtlining everything.

Any help would be appreciated.
