1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / 1969 GT350 AC Idler pulley finish
« on: April 04, 2022, 10:39:04 PM »
Can somebody help me with what the finish is the adjustable Idler pulley?
Build date 1/9/1969. Also, is the site glass on the AC hose always built into the hose? I got a hose from Classic Auto Air and realized it didn’t have the site glass.
Thank you

Trying to figure out where these headlight wiring retainers attach, see attached pictures. I know the small retainer is correct as one each were on the original Wiring pigtail but I found one of these long retainers and am wondering if it’s correct and if there is one on each side and where do all of them attach? I’m not seeing anything in the Shelby specific parts addendum or the Mustang Assembly manuals from Osborn. Any and all pictures appreciated.  If the long retainer is correct any suggestion as to who has them would be appreciated , I’ve looked at NPD, CJP and Dead Nuts On with no luck.
Thank you.

1969 Lower Front Fender bolts (2) on each side, painted or not?
I know the Shelby front end is painted off the car but when it is put on the body are these 2 bolts on each lower side of the fender reused bolts from the original front end or did they even have a front end when shipped for final assembly and new bolts were used? Pictures included.
Thank you

« on: March 20, 2022, 05:05:06 PM »
Anyone know how the Headlight ring is finished?
They don’t appear to have any kind of coating on them but I didn’t know if they should be polished to some extent
Picture of my original.
Thank you

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / 69 GT350 grill nuts and washers
« on: March 20, 2022, 02:36:03 AM »
The top piece of the grill is a right angle steel piece that has threaded studs to attach the grill mesh to it. Any one have pictures of original nuts and washers as well as know if they are painted the same as the grill or left unfinished?
I’ve gone through the Shelby Special parts addendum and AMK’s list of attachment hardware and have found everything to attach the front end except for those fasteners. I’m attaching pictures but the nuts that I have are ordinary square nuts with assorted scrap pieces of broken clips and washers to hold everything together.

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / 69 GT350 headlight bucket adjustment hardware
« on: February 13, 2022, 02:00:14 PM »
Is the headlight adjustment hardware attached and painted when the bucket is painted or is the hardware and rivets put on after paint? I have all new hardware but the existing stuff was painted when my car was painted. Picture for example pointing to bracket and adjustment screw.
Thanks in advance

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / GT350 build date 1-9-69 front bumper paint
« on: January 12, 2022, 04:37:17 PM »
I know the arms on the back of the front bumper is supposed to be painted black and it was addressed on this site before but I can’t find it. Can someone please tell me how much is supposed to be painted and what sheen it’s supposed to be, Flat Black, satin or semi gloss?
Thank you.

I have included a picture from the assembly manual but I don’t recall ever seeing a clamp in this place before, any thoughts on exactly what clamp it is and where it goes?
I’m pointing to where I think it should go and it looks like it’s an ordinary screw hose clamp bu it have know real idea.
Thanks in advance.

Can anyone tell me what the finishes are for the Power Steering Valvebody? Mine was painted and as I’m rebuilding it I’d like for it to look original. I’ve looked on this forum and also the Concours Mustang site and if this question was asked and answered, I didn’t find it so I would appreciate any help.
Thank you

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / 69 Clock issues.
« on: December 10, 2021, 12:21:34 AM »
1969  clock problems, my clock is working but the adjustment gear keeps pulling off of the shaft and it also spins on the shaft. The gear seems to have a split in it and so does the one I have from an extra clock as well, I don’t know if it’s supposed to be that way or if the gear is supposed to be solid and that’s what’s causing the issue. I need the gear to stay on the shaft and not spin so the clock can be adjusted.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / 69 GT350 build date 1-8-69 sale panel emblems
« on: November 23, 2021, 08:05:46 PM »
My car has the Cobra emblem and it says COBRA under it but I’ve seen some that say SHELBY under the Cobra emblem. Is there any rhyme or reason as to which car gets which?

69 GT350 build date 1/8/69, is it supposed to have a seal? I don’t find any holes for a stapled one but I know there is a clip on.

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / 69 Speedometer Cable
« on: October 24, 2021, 08:00:45 PM »
The assembly manual says to use .50 tape around the cable on both sides of the  grommet and where the retainer attaching it to the frame rail (picture included) my original cable has residue that appears to support that. Any idea why it’s there and what kind of tape it’s supposed to be?
Thanks.
