One gallon of old school Guardsman Blue Metallic acrylic lacquer.  Hard to find today and perfect for the concours minded shop (1965/66 stripes, Cobras, GT40's, SAI racers).  Unlike modern day acrylic lacquers, this Sherwin Williams lacquer is the real deal with excellent flow out and durability (made before the EPA ban on lead content).  After mixing with solvent, this will make 2 to 2.5 gallons of ready to spray paint.  Compare to the cost of today's paint.

It has been properly stored and unopened since I bought it several decades ago.

FREE local pickup in Ocala, Florida or $65 for UPS shipping (signature required) to continental USA locations.  No overseas shipping. $475.

Sad to report that another great automotive racing icon has passed away:  Mr. John Horsman.

John was world famous for his time developing/engineering/managing early racing Aston Martins, Ford Advanced Vehicles GT40’s, JWAE Gulf GT40s, Porsches & Mirages.  Not too long ago he put together a fantastic book describing his career during the golden age of racing:  RACING IN THE RAIN.

John was always a true gentlemen and he will be truly missed.  Condolences to his wife Janet and his four daughters.  God speed John.

I have a few accordion seals available for reservoirs & master cylinders.

Convert your Cobra or GT40 to a SEALED brake/clutch fluid system.  Stops water absorption into your brake fluid - moisture which can cause expensive repairs due to corroded master cylinders, brake calipers & clutch slave internals.

Fits standard Girling 1-3/8” ID steel reservoir canisters (e.g. 427 Cobra, GT40) and some master cylinders w/ internal reservoirs (e.g. 289 Cobra clutch, etc).  The length of the accordion seal also fits Girling combined reservoirs (e.g. GT40 rear brake & clutch reservoir).

Simply remove the old rubber seal under the cap and install this accordion seal and save hundreds in repair costs & annual fluid changes.  Send PM for more info.  $38.50 each plus $5 for 1st class mail.

Anyone have some spare white plastic filters that fit inside the fill neck of Girling reservoirs?  One of the known Girling filter part numbers is:  #64473410 (on underside of filter). There may be other part numbers, too.  Thanks!

Looking to buy an original mid 1960's Autolite transistorized ignition amplifier XF-172234 in good working condition.  Note, the XF amplifier is shaped differently than the OEM Galaxy amplifier - the XF-172234 unit looks similar to a Boss 302 rev limiter. Thanks!

GT40 - Original/Mk V / Jacky Ickx GT40's at Amelia Island
« on: March 25, 2019, 03:59:17 PM »
2019 Amelia Island Concours offered attendees & racing enthusiasts (especially of the GT40 persuasion) a rare opportunity:

Six time LeMans winner(!) Jacky Ickx was re-united with a bunch of his former race cars.  Two of the cars were Gulf GT40P/1075 (1968/69 LeMans winner) and prototype Gulf GT40P/1049 (1967 Daytona class winner).  Iconic driver and race cars.

Just listed an original Cobra driver item on ebay for the serious Shelby American memorabilia collector.  Ed Lowther was one of the most famous Cobra drivers back in the day.  He owned/drove everything from Cobras to Corvettes to GT40's.  Us old timers will never forget the pride we had when Ed piloted CSX3009 to the 1966 A Prod Championship.  Good luck!
