1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / 66 override fix
July 21, 2023, 12:36:29 AM
I really want to fix the exhaust leak in the rear floor of my car where the traction bars come through; what works best, a big shift boot? Any particular one? Also does this take any special tools? It looks like pretty straightforward-just remove the folding rear seat and trim panels that hold the interior lights to get to the bars. I am a little afraid of how hard it might be to remove the big bolts that run through proximal end of the traction bars/brackets since they haven't been touched in almost 58 years. Any advice?
Thanks,

    Tim

Couple more. These were all original cars, no replicas.

A couple of pix from the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival. Not bad for an inaugural event.

Sorry I didn't reply earlier; I got really busy and then went to Carmel for car week. I was going to go through the rearend because there was a little bit of a whine when getting out of the throttle; it appears this was just a loose pinion nut. I already had a new 3.50 set and thought if doing a rebuild it might a few rpm when cruising.

I think I am about to rebuild my cars rear stump and change from 3.89 to a 3.50; If I already have the ring and pinion, do you have any idea what this should cost?
Thanks

It would be nice to see a couple of Shelby cars in the time trial. I don't know how many cars are needed for car club parking but I'd do it. I'm about 2 hours away also.

Is anybody planning on going to this event in October? Looks pretty interesting; Shelby car corral?

I need to buy an alternator for 6S330, or rebuild mine. Any idea where to go?

Thanks

Does anyone remember the name of the guy that did a presentation on this film and actually read a small piece of the script at Mid Ohio?  As I recall when going through his preferred list of actors he had Matthew McConaughey as first choice for CS; too bad that didn't work out. He also promised an advanced screening for SAAC, but I don't know how serious he was.  The upcoming convention would work well.

I am really bummed that I couldn't get the car there even though it was blowfish weather. I had an enclosed trailer borrowed but when I went to pick it up the lights weren't working and there was no time to sort it out. Local weather said Highlands got over 5" rain in two days. I went anyway and I'm glad I did. I've already scheduled time off for the event next year.

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Grille Horse emblem
June 05, 2019, 01:44:20 AM
How do you remove the horse from the grille? just pry the brackets off the backside with a screwdriver?  I got my grille refinished and the shop did a good job but when they replaced to horse it is way to far to left. If it's something I could do pretty easily I'd rather move it rather than take it back in.
Thanks

I am ready to go with 6S330; looking forward to parking with a great bunch of cars. I'm registered for the tour of the mountains, don't know if I want to do that if its raining real hard.
