Concours Talk / Re: Grill area black paint
« on: January 06, 2024, 11:56:35 AM »
Thanks for the grille and surround paint information. FYI NPD carries the Seymour AP-GPA dark argent paint, but it’s too dark and it’s glossy (see attached image of valance, headlight ring and NPD paint suggested earlier in this thread). I sanded my headlight surround valance (was paint matte black 30+ years ago) and it’s a lighter color and matte finish.  Also, was underneath the valance dark argent or black. While cleaning up underneath my valance I found evidence of dark grey. I matched my panel to a Duplicolor Ford dark shadow grey (see image) and it matches extremely well.

Appreciate all the help. I can tell you replacing the bulbs to 1157 Led equivalent works for driving lights, but not brake and turn signals without some modification.

Cobrask8, where can I find the article (On the blink) online? I tried downloading the images, but they are not so legible.
Thanks

I appreciate all the suggestions. Grounds are fine, first thing I checked, battery fairly new and fully charged. I'll look into the other suggestions.
Thanks

My 69 GT500 has dim turn signal first bulb in the series on either side is the brightest, but still dim. The remainder are barely noticeable. Brake and stop lights are fine. Inspected the grounds and even introduced an external ground, but still dim. Replaced bulbs and no change, Any insight?
Thanks

The link really doesn’t show the inner fender detail. So would you say it’s a safe bet to reproduce what I found? Here’s an image of the passenger side.

Recently started removing aftermarket under coating on my 69 GT 500. I found that the passenger side was mostly body color all the way to the front of the fender inner. On the driver’s side I found body color through the shock tower. Can anyone tell me where I might find information on what it should look like?
Thanks
