Another of the Club's annual events. Within Bow-and-Arrow range of Cabella's! Enjoy the cars, then get some new gear.

Flyer attached with the details

Time for our club's oldest annual event - Snakes on the Mountain! This started off as a 1995 "No-Nothing" at Denny Blocker's Harley Dealership, it rained, one car!!!

The event has grown, morphed, transformed, moved around, grown, shrunk, and gotten tastier over the years.

Attached is the flyer for this year's event, hosted by Denny and Joyce Blocker at their hillside retreat. Featured this year is the Cobra's spawn, the Viper. Looks to be quite an interesting look at these V-10 snakes!

Here's the basic details on Saturday's Popular Ballot Car Show:

We will be running the car show in the same manner we did last year at Pitt Race. It proved to be very successful, lots of trophies out to deserving cars, plus VIP awards. We had almost 150 cars last year. All sorts! 289, 427 Cobras, All years GT, Shelby Mustangs, Fords, race cars, replicas, a true cross section of all things Ford. Definitely worth consideration if you are coming one day. Saturday is the day.

Awards for "Best" in roughly 30-35 classes, plus a "Top 20" popular ballot by the entrants.

Show will be located in the pits, in the corner near turn 2 of the race track.

I know all this, as I am helping run the show!

Many of us were invited to a special birthday Party for Chuck Cantwell. He just turned 29 again!

His family coordinated with 3-Dog Garage in Boyertown PA and put on an amazing birthday party Saturday afternoon. The guest list was a proverbial Who's Who in the Shelby world including SAAC Board of directors, Rick Kopec, many important SAAC folks (myself included!), as well as special VIP's Aaron Shelby, Gary Patterson, and more. Also present were Penske Race team members from Chuck's tenure there, plus family friends.

As usual, Chuck was extremely humble, not wanting to be in the spotlight.

HUGE Kudos to the Cantwell Falily for putting this together. It was truly a special afternoon!

I live close by. I'll throw in a bunch of older convention shirts!

Quite possibly your clutch is not fully dis-engaging? Rough reverse is usually a sign of that
#10
That is common with the Top Loaders, they get grumpy.

Before I go into reverse, I go into 1st before. Sometimes they do need a gentle nudge out of reverse. I bet this happens more when cold or first starting out?

On a real HURST Shifter, the alignment of the shifter rods has much to do with the shifter at rest position. Trick is to insert a pin/bolt/screwdriver through the shifter arm holes to align, and adjust the shift rods accordingly. Once all set, the shifter should take a perfect neutral.

Not sure if this works with a Ford Shifter.

A last reminder for our first meeting of the year! 7:00 PM at Tom Paxson's Basement Pub! Please RSVP Tom – Cobr427a@aol.com if you are planning on attending, so we know how many to expect and pizza's to order.

I will be sending out a full meeting agenda next, but wanted the word out one last time.

Lots to go over, a year to set up, 2024 should be a good one!

Last reminder about dues, I swap over to the new list March 1, so please update so you stay on the mailing list. This e-mail went out to the last three years membership, after 3/1/2024, just the current membership list.

Agreed on the evenness. #4 seems a little down, but still healthy. If you pull the heads, look at the bore, or maybe a valve  or valve seat?

I would be leaning towards leaving it be.
