I'm a bit naive to the alleged "sales" of these R cars but I sure would like to learn.  Here's #101 that currently sits in the Shelby museum in Vegas which is owned by Aaron Shelby.  It looks like it ran through Gooding and Company in 2021 and it apparently sold for $775,000.  Did Aaron buy it in 2021 or was that another "not a real sale"?

The interesting thing about #101, which currently resides in Vegas, is that there is paper work sitting on the front seat of the car that shows Aaron as the current owner along with his contact info.  I actually thought about calling him to inquire if the car is currently for sale, or possibly for sale in the future.   I don't know if I am a dead dog serious buyer but you never know, if it was available, I could be easily convinced.

I've been looking for a set of these for years but I am looking for a well restored set.  What I am wondering, is, if a guy Like Tim Lea (or someone else capable of restoring 68 hubcaps) would even consider restoring these and if he felt that he could bring them up to a condition that would be worth the investment?

Wife and I were at Barrett Jackson and we saw this 69 GT350. Based on the description and the included documentation it had to be a top notch car.  It even included a "rare" and desirable Matini Report.

What I really love about the picture of Hank and I is the back story.  My friend Steve and I had come down from Alberta, Canada to attend SAAC 43.  During the show we were enjoying all the incredible cars and the great weather when we came upon this amazing Cobra and Hank was close by.  At the time, I did not know the history of the car or the story of Hank.

While admiring Hanks car a stranger approached me and we began discussing the car and Hank.   This stranger educated me on the history and significance of the car as well as the icon who was "Hank" Williams.  I was awestruck with the story and I was excited to be in the company of what I knew to be a legend of the Shelby Cobra world.  It was the same way I felt when Steve and I met Carroll Shelby at the old Vegas museum.  We were in the presence of a historical figure and greatness.

When that stranger told me the tale and history of Hank, I knew right then and there I had to get a picture with him.  I still ponder who the stranger was but I am so fortunate that he shared the story with me.  That was a special day for many reasons and I am forever grateful.

Met him a few years ago at SAAC 43.  It was an honor.   RIP brother.

Pete is right.  My membership just came up for renewal and I haven't renewed....... yet.  I've been a member for only 20 years so that certainly makes me new to the forums .  Not sure if I'll renew or not.  There's some great people here and all the top,.....top Shelby and Cobra experts in the world are all right here and I want to support SAAC, the forum and all the good people but damn, it sure feels like people are pissed and not much is being done.  It feels like SAAC isn't progressing or moving forward.  I admit, I'm undecided if I should cough up my $50 lousy buck or not.
