Ask a Registrar / Re: 9F03R481219
October 02, 2023, 04:18:56 PM
Tks Bill. I recently posted a message thru BAT to the seller and he replied that the car was still for sale. BAT quickly deleted both posts, and I lost the ability to further communicate with the owner. If anyone can forward my saac contact to the owner I would appreciate it. I was relayed a message that the owner was a saac member known as pe2unia but I'm not finding any member name like that. Tks.

Any history or information on this VIN: 9F03R481219. Car was a recent NS on BAT, and they block any attempt to contact the owner. Any information regarding the car and current owner would be appreciated Tks!

Other than on BAT, I'm not finding anything on DaveMM1961shelby. Are you seeing something on this forum? Or some other place?

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Red 1970 fastback 0n ebay
August 21, 2023, 04:49:52 PM
I was alerted today that my 1970 GT 500 red fastback, which I bought in 2022 on BAT, is currently for sale on eBay! I took a look and the listing even uses the BAT photos! Seller does not list a VIN. Pass the word that this is a scam listing.

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: 70 GT 500 muffler

Original post did not say best, or cheapest, muffler. It said best source, and that I wanted a similar reproduction. All cars are different. Mine does not have the original engine, has was painted a different color with an interior color change as well. It will never be judged. It'll be driven hard, and not fretted over if it gets a rock chip in the paint. So, cost is a bit more relative. A good muffler that resembles the original, and fits as the original fit, is all that I need.

As to Scott's schematic, he does not show the collector part, so it threw me off. It looked as if his tailpipes were the last part of a complete system, and they are not. He clarified that for me.

Scott's muffler is $675 and CJ Pony has same muffler for $260?

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / 70 GT 500 muffler

I need a new muffler for my 70 GT 500. Possibly new pipes as well. Where is best source for that? It presently has the original exhaust system and I want to stay with similar reproductions. Tks!

Should I be looking for a D9ZA 19A242, or a D0ZA 19A242?

I was thinking that it was the 19A242 that was important. The only difference in part numbers is the 0 vs the 1. D0ZA 19A242 vs D1ZA 19A242. So, looks like a D1ZA 19A242 is just bigger? Anyone know of a D0ZA 19A242 for sale?

CJPony acknowledged it was not correct and the others they checked in stock were also not correct.

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / 70 Radio Bezel
March 26, 2023, 06:09:53 PM
My 70 GT500 came with an aftermarket radio. It originally had an am/8 track. I found a D1ZA 19A242 am/8 track which I think should be correct.  The car also came with a new radio bezel still in the bag. Here's my problem: the radio opening in the bezel is 4"w x 2"h, but the part of the radio that should slide into that opening is 4.5"w x 2.75"h. What am I missing? Does the am/8 track require a different bezel?

Sorry, the first one is the same as what I took off, just reverse to one advertised as a Shelby assembly on eBay.

Tks. The first one does have bushings on both sides, but is a reverse configuration to a Shelby. The second is used, and I'm looking for a new replacement. But I appreciate you putting time into trying to help me out. I'm waiting to hear what CJ Pony has to say.
