The heads were production C5OE hipo heads with the banana water ports welded by HydroHead out here in California. Pallets of these modified heads were sent to both Mondello and Valley Head Service for full portind and combustion chamber work along with the "chevy valves".
The intakes were ported ( as the small letter Cobra intakes were small ) and the last runs built in '66 used large letter intakes also ported. The camshafts were ground by Engle ( a California grinder) and often their HL56 profile. One way we used to tell original heads was by the stamp noting how much they were milled and blue anodized aluminum retainers for the valves. I still have one set of original heads and one cam.

Rogers Porting Service, North Hollywood were also used by SAI to modify heads.

6S2020 has a mixed set of 5, original to the car .

6S2020 has original "survivor" pitman arm and has the original "survivor" yellow paint on it.

Have mentioned it before in other posts(maybe even a photo) on here only to be poo poo'd by the "experts"

I have lots of details from 6S2020 a car that sat in a dry long beach workshop and did not move for 36yrs 76-12

I gave up sharing these details on here long ago.........

Got a chuckle from this. Reminds me of the '63 Corvette owners that removed the split window because they preferred the "clean look" and visibility improvement of the '64 rear window. Flavor of the month. I'll bet there are not too many '65s with the 1/4 windows still around today?

Good find 2112! I recall seeing this car listed for sale on Hemmings a few years ago. According to the notes on one of the accompanying BAT photos a previous owner replaced the louvers with plexi quarter windows to improve visibility "so he could see better when he was racing". Function over form? Interesting that "R" Models, that were built for racing, were completely blocked off.

Typical Barn find hype drives the price up ...

This model GT have sold for up to $400k aud for a special build, but if paying for a resto on this one, as usual the buyer will be under water. JMO
