SAAC-48 / Re: Great Social gathering for SAAC 48 participants

The car from Hawaii was at the track. It was an AC Cobra with 158K miles. This was my second appearance at a SAAC event and had a great time. The host hotel was fantastic. I really enjoyed the car collection. Never seen that many 427's in one place. Makes my car club garage look old and dingy.

I just clicked on the SAAC website and what a great improvement in all areas. Most of my time is spent on the forum. The pictures are excellent. Are these members cars? Kudos to the web designer.

I'll agree with FL SAAC on Continental Extreme Contact DW. This my tire choice for my daily driver on a Audi A4 and my Shelby GT. These are a warm weather tire only meaning with lower road temperatures traction will not be optimum. I live in CT so the car is not driven in cold weather. They do offer an all season also but I can't say if they are good. I've gotten good tread wear and traction for these tires. They warm up with normal driving without being sticky and loosing treadwear. My last set of tires were BF Goodrich that I removed early because they flat spotted and offered less traction than the Continental. - Kevin

I bought my Shelby in the spring of 2009. The car was a leftover never registered discounted almost $10K. It had 25 miles on the odometer when purchased from a dealership in Glendale, CA. I purchased it sight unseen and had it shipped back to Connecticut and have enjoyed it ever since. I've improved the cooling system, brakes, suspension and had a supercharger installed by Tasca Ford.

Thank you for posting this. I might not have found it on my own. This was not one of the emails that they sent me. I passed it along to another Shelby GT owner who got me to buy mine.

Thank you 68gtcoupe for that information. You answered two questions in one statement. I wasn't sure how early I could book the room.

Is that rate available yet? I would like to stay at the host hotel with SAAC. My last trip was at a local hotel. - Kevin

Richstang-
I was a member of Team Shelby and posted by a moderator who worked for Shelby stated that they have not published how many SC conversions have been completed because the program has not closed yet. By watching the Shelby GT section of the forum I don't belief the number is very high. Some SC conversions were not completed by a Shelby authorized shops which would make them not authorized or in the registry. The Razor wheels is one of my favorite mods. I needed new wheels because I upgraded to Brembo's and the stock rims would not clear the calipers. - Kevin

Hello-
New member here just joined this year. I attended SAAC-44 and events in Carlisle, PA. My car is a 2008 Shelby GT-C that I purchased new in Glendale, CA. This was my first new car that I ever purchased. It was supercharged by Tasca Ford thus making it now a Shelby GT/SC. - Kevin
