While we are on the topic, do I need any kind of lube on the seal prior to pulling the rope from around the outside? Dish soap or silicone spray or anything like that?
   Thanks, Pete.  :)

NPD sells an Automotive Bedding and Glazing Compound that will create a seal between the gasket and windshield frame.  Have not needed to use any lubricant as the new gasket seems to slip over the edge with no problem.  The only areas that may cause a problem are the corners.  Sometimes it is hard to get the gasket to go around them.  Also, usually, pull the rope around the inside, with a person gently hitting the windshield as the rope is pulled, helping it seat.

Putting the clips in first gives you the option of checking proper seating and fitment.  Also, if one of the studs decides to break, you do not have to remove the windshield to repair.  I can be a nasty job if you have used sealant prior to installation.  Not to mention wasting a seal or windshield damage.  Just my two cents.

I saw this auction today.  Scam or typo?  Not sure which.

Thank You
Looking through the NPD and VCM catalogues they have listings for the 66 350 but the photos online and what I received were the single diameter spring. I'll reuse my old springs.

Dave, that is what I have done as well.

Can't recall what the specific clearance issue was with mine, but I assume it was the front carb.  It was a long time ago that I tried to install it.  I recall it was close but was not going to fit with the original holes, and I did not want to get into drilling new ones.  My Holleys are the List 3360 / 3361's.  Perhaps yours are different carbs and have different dimensions?

If your car is a 1966, the straight bar may not fit because of the engine orientation in the compartment.  On a 1966. the bar slips behind the distributor and on a 1967/1968, in passes over the distributor top.  What brand of carbs are you using?

I found the stock boot a little binding for the Hurst shifter. I used a shift boot and trim from a ‘69-‘70 with the factory Hurst shifter. Fit’s way better.

That looks like a good solution.

Looks like you have a Hurst shifter.  The stock Mustang shifter boot may conform to the Hurst shape so you can use the stock shifter bezel, but not sure.  If you do convert to a stock boot and bezel, you will probably end up with the existing boot holes visible.  That is unless you change the carpet.

The boot is under the carpet.  I do not think the bezel will cover the screws.

Another brain fart by the mental giants in Sacramento.  If this passes, a driver will not be able to avoid the many a-holes that drive the California freeways.

Twenty plus years ago when I lived in Long Beach, CA., Hank was at many of the car shows I attended.  I do not have enough fingers and toes to count how many youngsters were invited to sit in his Cobra and have their picture taken.  I am sure it is a memory they will have forever.  He would say "they cannot hurt anything"  He was always gracious and welcoming.  He will truly be missed.

That is a little more than I thought the price would end up.  I was thinking $180 to $200,000 range.  Did not like the extended rear shackles.  Maybe it was to counter the front end height.
