Shelby American Racing / Re: Group II Mustang - Race

Couple of questions:

In 1965 the production four seat Mustang fastback was converted to the two seat GT350, this for meet SCCA B/P racing rules. If you had a '65 Mustang fastback in that same time period and wanted to race in SCCA, what SCCA class if any could you compete in with a '65 fastback?  Somewhere I have seen pictures of a '65 GT350 and '65 fastback Mustang in the same race? Maybe just a regional race that needed to fill out the field?

Also, don't understand why Ford could not use fastback Mustangs in the early Trans Am series, as they were production four seaters? Ford did so in 1969.

GT40 - Original/Mk V / Wiper arm
« on: March 01, 2024, 10:29:31 AM »
Anyone know the NSN or aircraft type wiper arm and wiper used on the MKII? The wiper motor and drive was apparently Boeing 707 , but the arm was not. Any info appreciated.

Yep! Type fast, make mistakes and auto correct doesn’t help much either.

Late to this post, but a GT40 is extremely spacious . Try getting into an original Lotus Europa.

Will consider secondary too

Grind two flats on each side of the head and then use a small wrench or vice grips to twist out the rivet. Slotting the head works too but sometimes one side brakes off.

I fixed a warped bowl by using a 1/2" steel plate with the bowl screwed down to it. Placed in an oven for an 1/2 hour at 400. Let it cool in the oven and it was de-warped.

The Lounge / Re: Shocking Battery Prices

On a non tab battery I used a couple of large hose clamps screwed together with filed small grooves in the case for the bands to bite into.  With the clamps tight and the stock hold downs covering and holding the clamp heads down, the battery is locked in place. Paint the clamp bands black and you're in business.
