Parts For Sale / 1967 Deluxe Seat Belt Set
« on: February 13, 2024, 08:25:27 AM »
Original set of 1967 black deluxe seat belts.  All buckle and retractors function free and smooth.  Very good condition with not rips in webbing.  Chrome is in very good condition one buckle has a bit of rust on one side.  This set has been in storage for at least 30 years just needs a little cleaning. All chrome should polish up nicely with ease.

$300 obo includes shipping in continental US

In the documentation the Ford and Shelby vins are shown on the Marti Report.  Should Mecum remove this?

Ford GT / Re: Ford GT s getting taken out one at a time.
« on: January 02, 2024, 11:23:46 AM »
I just had  a fresh set of the recommended Bridgestone's put  on my (new to me) Gt ,the car came with the original Goodyears on it still ,which i kept for historical purposes .I figure i see people selling the original Goodyear speedways for our 67 Gt500's for show purposes ,so i might as well save these .

I did the same thing and purchased a new set of wheels from Ford.  This way the original tires were not removed from the assembly line wheels.  I can say never really bought into the hype about how bad the Good Years were (age also a factor).  Sent my car to Rich Brooks back in October as a 500 mile carefully garaged 06 GT.  My new purpose was to have the car gone thru add PPF, new Bridgestones, X pipe etc.  The tires transformed the car and feels much better grabbing the road.  While the car was there Rich used it as a backdrop for a motor he was selling.  Big difference and certainly recommended.

Most of the wrecks are due to the production Good Year tires.  A lot of these cars still have them, like hitting black ice.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: best choice headlight???
« on: December 13, 2023, 07:02:54 AM »
A period correct bulb just looks great on 67 Shelbys.  The glass, profile and etching just makes the front of the car look as it should.  If you're trying to source an original set try West Coast Classic Cougar.  The Cougars have the same diameter bulb and were protected behind the hideaway headlight covers.

Wanted to Buy / 67 -68 Vent window gaskets
« on: December 11, 2023, 04:15:04 PM »
I've tried all of the usual sources looking for the reproduction Ford Tooling vent window gaskets.  Are the other reproductions any good?  Anyone have a set of the Ford Tooling they are interested in selling?

Thanks

Appeals / 1967 restoring interior - how much paint to buy?
« on: November 04, 2023, 10:49:12 AM »
I have completely removed the interior from my 67.  Going to freshen up all interior panels, doors and dash area.  Any idea on how many spray cans will be needed?

I believe it was a cushion/support from the underside of the rear seat stationary platform.

Let me know if you need originals I may have a set.   I have lots of hardware left over from 67 GT500 and 66 GT350 restoration as I used all new AMK and kept the original hardware

Wanted to Buy / Re: Sun X 67/68 FB Door Glass Wanted

Still looking for 1967 glass.  Thanks for the education that 67 vs 68 is different.  Looks to me the 68 glass has more of a blue tint unlike the 67 with a green tint.

Try West Coast Classic Cougar.  Best place for original parts like this as well as restored OE pieces
