There is obviously a change in the procedure with the new software? I'm not seeing it?

Parts For Sale / 250hp NOS Nitrous Oxide Cheater System
January 15, 2024, 08:40:13 AM
This is a new NOS 250hp Nitrous Oxide Cheater System.

It contains a FULL 10 pound bottle, the kit, two 4 barrel carb adapter plates for dual four barrel Holley carbs, a NOS pressure gauge. Stainless steel mounting bolts.

You can easily use only one carb mounting plate.

I had it mounted but never used it.

It is currently for sale at Summit Racing for $909.95, plus tax, with an empty bottle that you need to fill locally. About a $1250 value with a full tank.

This can not be shipped because of the full bottle and needs to be picked up here.

PM me here if interested.

$700.

I tend to think no with some of the variations I have seen on some '67s BUT I have seen cars that CLAIM to be completely original with just one color of primer?

It appears sometimes to be glossy in spots and flat in other spots and the redness seems to vary front to back?

#8
I don't remember this being covered? Is the battery tray just relocated from the front to the trunk or is there a something else pulled from another application?

Is there a part number on it?

Anyone have some pictures of these that they can post?

I presume that they are just 390 GT parts but I just don't know for sure. Just looking for some help here, not to argue. Thanks.

Were they moved together on one side? The A/C seems to interfere with the driver's side mounting location?

This is a really nice 1967 Original Assembly Line 390 STD  4 speed manual rear cross member.

It is stamped 390 STD, 7 6,  5 20 (May 20, 1967) A,  X,  and R.

It has been glass beaded and repainted.

These 4 speed manual rear cross members are different then the small blocks and any of the automatic transmission cross members.
This one is definitely a 1967 version.

Each year is shaped differently in order to clear the factory exhaust H pipes which vary according to model years.

This one would be an excellent choice if you are restoring a late build '67 GT500 with a 4 speed manual transmission.

The price on this is $595.  $20 to ship USPS Flat Rate, Large Box within the Continental US.  Additional to go elsewhere at whatever the additional cost is.

Payment by Paypal, "Friends and Neighbors" please.

The Lounge / Cylinder Head Flow numbers
November 27, 2023, 10:57:33 AM
For those of you interested in subjects like this check out this web site.

http://users.erols.com/srweiss/tablehdc.htm

The Tunnel Port 302 cylinder heads did receive much negative press back in 68 but they really aren't the main culprit in the Ford racing failures that year.

For one thing there is no way that they flowed numbers that Ford had published. In fact they were around 250 on the intakes.

The iron Boss 302's stock were actually a little better out of the box BUT if you follow some of the magazine articles on the race prep for the B2 heads, they were getting epoxied down quite a bit to make the rpm usefulness scale.

It may just be that the C head was more adaptable to race prep then the TP was.

The only head of interest to me that Weiss has not tested is the GT40 iron head from what I can see. Even the Gurney head is on the list of testing.

All in all this is an interesting read and should answer many questions as well as probably shocking you as to how bad stock heads were out of the box then especially
considering what today's aftermarket heads do.

Are the kits shown in the Off Highway Boss 302  Chassis booklet still available anywhere?

I wound up with a generic Hurst floor shifter boot as a solution

Are the black screws that hold the rear fiberglass taillight panel in place "black stainless"? Are they truss head or something else?

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 428 Dipstick tube
October 07, 2023, 08:17:15 AM
Is there a difference in dipstick tubes for the FE engines?

The Ford Service replacement tube that I have mounted on my 67 GT500 engine does not fit correctly.

When the mounting flange to the exhaust manifolds is connected, the tube is too short and pulls out of the block mounting point.

I am presuming that the answer to my question is yes, there are different tubes, but what is the service part number for the correct one?

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Installing headers on 67 GT500
October 05, 2023, 05:47:57 PM
I think that I read that some have installed Hooker headers on an engine first before installing the engine. Then installing the engine, transmission and headers together as a unit?

Has anyone here tried that?

The Lounge / Why did the Forum server go down?
September 26, 2023, 08:51:23 AM
For the second time in the last two weeks, the Forum server was not in service.

Was/is there an issue with the server or was this some type of un-announced maintenance?

There seems to be no changes in the format of the operating software here so it couldn't have been that?

Past history shows that was totally predictable.
