Hi All,

I'm looking to fit USRRC/Nassau style exhausts on my 289 which I believe uses the S1CR-9436-2. Does anyone know of a place that builds these in raw steel? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Anyone out there know the max width for 15" Avon CR6ZZ tires you can put under a 1965 GT350 with the standard wheel openings (no flares) avoiding interference for normal street driving? Better yet - if you have a pic of a car with such could you show it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All,

Last weekend I had the pleasure of showing 5S262 at the Amelia Island Concours and ultimately placed as a class winner. While the show was on my bucket list to attend I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd be there as an entrant let alone get an award. I have to say I owe a lot of it to many of you fine folks schooling me on the details of the car(s) over the years. Any way while I was there I had a young guy come up to me and say he really enjoyed reading the placard in front of the car and couldn't help but notice I mentioned the car was sold in 1965 from Gene Hamon Ford. He went on to say that he knew Tomy Hamon personally and would it be okay to photograph and then send Tomy a pic. I said "absolutely" and he went on his way. Now three days later I get home with the car and I notice a FB message from Tomy on my phone. Congratulating me on the award and how he'd like to some day see it in person. As a passing comment I wrote back "yeah I looked for along time for photos and even a dealership license frame for the restored car, but could never come up with anything." He replied, "I vaguely remembered it and of course, the Freddie Van Buren R model that we had - let me look through the boxes I have left from back in the day in the basement and I'll see what comes up". The next day I headed to work and when I walked out 8 hours later to head home I saw a message from Tomy again expressing this: "We had just built the new dealership building back in 1965 so dad had some photos taken of it and I came across this one to my surprise - look at what's sitting in the front row (5S262) and in the show room (COBRA)!" Such a cool connection and a pic that had been elusive for years...just thought I'd share...and now to find which COBRA that was!

Parts For Sale / Late Style 289 Weber intake NOS
February 27, 2019, 10:28:00 AM
All,

Deciding to sell a 48 IDA weber intake I bought for one of my projects back in the early 2000s. It is the "late" style intake where the carbs run parallel rather than the earlier "opposed" type. COBRA open letter manifold only. When I purchased it back in the day I was told by the COBRA owner I bought it from that it was NOS - I'm not an expert so I'm not entirely sure how to tell. Do your research...Asking $1200

Parts For Sale / NOS Spalding Flamethrower Magneto
February 15, 2019, 12:27:07 PM
In 1963 and 1964 Shelby offered the "Stage III" option of a high powered ignition system for the COBRA competition folks. Running a coil for each bank of cylinders got you a "hotter spark" and better performance. IT looks cool and is definitely EXOTIC in the 60's Shelby era. It was a really expensive factory option in 1964 and very few sold over the counter at SA. Only the Shelby built team COBRAs and the high profile Dragonsnakes of the day had this option fitted under "Stage III". I was offered and bought this unit NOS in the original box with install instructions thinking someday I'd run it on a 289, but I have decided to let it go instead. It's bold and beautiful on a 289 running webers!l I'd like to get what I have in unit at $1300.

Parts For Sale / NOS Gurney Eagle Induction Kit
February 13, 2019, 01:02:07 PM
NOS Gurney Eagle Induction Kit - the rarest of rare Ford small block performance. If you're viewing this listing you most likely know what this kit does for a small block ford engine. Conceived through design collaboration between Harry Weslake and Dan Gurney this aluminum top end which allowed the engine to breath freely and run well above 4000 rpm. Properly tuned it was well known to produce roughly 450 naturally aspirated HP. Used in Gurney's Eagles allowed Gurney to win many races. I understand that these kits rarely are offered for sale.

The entire kit appears to be NOS and wrapped in old newspaper.

The items I have are as follows:

2 - cylinder heads
2 - valve covers
2 - water manifolds (L/R)
2 - rocker arm shafts
8 - exhaust gaskets
9 - valves
16 - pushrods
2 - breather caps
NOS hardware
Rocker adjustable studs
Rocker shaft pedestals
Valve seals
1 - 4V intake manifold

Please note - I AM NOT an Gurney Weslake expert! While 95% of the kit seems to be here, I noticed a couple of small things seem to be missing (I notice 9 pushrods vice 16). I bought this intending to put it in my project, but have since decided to go a different direction. Asking $12,000 US for all of it.

Hi All! I have a nice original Stewart Warner 240A fuel pump I purchased on Ebay a while back along with a rebuild kit to refurbish it. I originally thought of doing it myself, but due to time constraints and unfamiliarity of this thing I thought if the price was right I'd send it out to be rebuilt and then just bolt it in when it came back. Does anyone know of a individual or place that would take my pump and kit and rebuild/restore it so it's ready to go? Any help/leads appreciated!

CSX 2000 Series / 1964 8K Tachometer install
February 06, 2019, 12:29:20 PM
All,

I am posting here because I'm pretty sure a lot of "early" 289 COBRA received the 8K Faria Tachometer(s) back in the day. Any way when I bought my car it had been re-wired to accept a much later (80s) tachometer. Now I would like to return the car back to it's late 1963/early 1964 wiring and tach setup. Going through my boxes I found the original tach but I have no mounting bracket, light bulb holder or instructions as to how it's wired. I was wondering if any of you guys could help me with these things? Since there are no visible markings on the back of the tach, I'm having a difficult time discerning what hooks to what without frying the unit. I am attaching a couple pics of it for reference - any comments or helpful thoughts welcome.

Sincerely,
Wayne
