1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: high idle when warm
« on: February 24, 2019, 09:43:29 PM »
i had that same problem with my 69 gt350 and found it was the throttle cable. i disconnected it from the carb and sprayed wd40 both when cable was extended and close. if figured to was rust or dirt,  be careful the plastic part of the cover shield over the cable is brittle and if you bend to much up and down, it might break.  keep us posted.

Not until after the 2014 did we SAAC and I get any photos of Gold 1969 GT500 with gold door panels with power windows and Cougar gold seats supplied by SAAC member Bill to verify it did not have a Cougar dash as reported in previous Registry. I do believe the car was delivered to first owner in that Gold configuration ! Mongo.

The "only" thing i have noticed about close & wide ratio trans installs are they will all have the same DSO. Also i thing there is a note that could be added to a "pre-production order sheet".  Not a sure thing that if you asked for it, if it would happen!

Just so happens that "both" close & wide ratio transmissions were available on gt350's with or without a/c. I have yet to find an answer. The LMC conv is an original wide ratio trans car without a/c and 3.25 rear. My driver 69 350 conv is an original 4-speed close ration with a/c and 3.00 rear.

i probably have "factory paperwork on 99% of the 1968-69-70 Shelbys that is printed in the 1300 page 2014 Registry. All i need is a v.i.n. to tell you what i got?  Doing great started planning for SAAC 43 , Las Vegas is 1st stop before Sonoma!

That is correct, if an owner sends us info on their cars and does not want their name or location listed we will honor their wishes, "But" not so long ago there were "fake" Shelbys going to auction that buy chance an "original and still present owner" contacted us to say "what's up"?  And when the auction house contacted us we said "yes the original owner still has his car and all the registrations since new" and he was not selling that car. The auction house pulled all the cars and more and there were arrests.  It really does pay to tell SAAC you are the owner so you don't have to play legal fees to defend you car in court!
