#00147 was built with the same dso as 10 Shelbys and the other 9 built at the same time do not have tilt. Also the invoice for those cars do not show tilt $ being charge for.

8T02J149338-01137. GT350. Hertz. Shipped to Gotham Ford (New York, NY) 2/7/68. IBM cost card show this Shelby's "actual cost" from Ford/A.O.Smith/Shelby was $4029.08. for pre-delivery prep for Hertz (New York, NY) the origianl owner,  2/14/68. Car donated 2011 by Shelby Children Heart Fund (Carroll Shelby) to Northeast Texas Community College (Mt Pleasant, TX) automotive technology class will restore the car and sell for funding for college automotive section.

8T03S143351-01330. GT500. Shipped to Sanders Motor Company, Inc. (Raleigh, NC) 1/30/68. IBM "actual cost" card shows $3833.71 to build. On 2/2/68 claim brief for vehicle loss and damage for l/door paint at a cost of $10.46 serviced at dealership. Date of sale 6/11/68. On 9/14/68 original owner Robert C. Malone (St. Louis, Missouri) had warranty service at dealership for clutch pedal sticks and w/shield latch broken and replace clock and tilt problems and deck lid at a cost of $140.09 with 6733 miles. Previous owner Mario C. Ramas (Beckley, WV). For sale on internet eBay July of 2003 located in Spartanburg, SC with 48,283 miles and is now painted 'white". Purchased by present owner Victor B. Riden III (Atlanta, GA) with 427 engine installed. For sale Jan 2011 located in Spartanburg, SC painted white.

sorry meant to say Hertz cars for 1969 git the big spindles but used up the E70x15 tires.

On the space saver bracket.  There has to be a point in time where non big spindles stop and and yet use up the inventory of F70x15 tires and big spindles come in and then the delete sheets reflect the introduction of the F60x15 tires and the space saver bracket came to be. Hertz cars good example introduced big and use up the old F60x15 tires. All stations at assembly plant are not up to speed at snap of your fingers. takes time to get all parts in place and add operations and changes to the assembly time procedures and instruct workers of change. "the rule of the assembly line formen is never stop the line from building units"!
